Qualcomm debuts Snapdragon 7s Gen 3: A Mid-Tier Upgrade with High-End Flair

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has introduced its latest innovation, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 Mobile Platform. This new addition to the 7-series is set to elevate mid-tier devices with a range of high-end features.

The Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 isn’t just another upgrade—it brings a considerable performance boost. The Qualcomm Kryo CPU delivers nearly 20% better performance and a 45% improvement in power savings. The Qualcomm Adreno GPU enhances gaming with up to 40% more performance, while the AI Engine provides over 30% better AI capabilities. Leading phone manufacturers such as Realme, Samsung, Sharp, and Xiaomi are preparing to include the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 in their upcoming devices. This platform features advanced technologies, including on-device generative AI that supports models like Baichuan-7B and Llama 2 at 1B parameters. It also offers enhanced gaming experiences with the Qualcomm Adreno GPU and advanced camera features like 12-bit triple ISP and 4K sHDR video capture.

Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm, said, “Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 will bring the best of the 7-series to more mid-tier devices by selecting top 7-series features including on-device AI support. This platform is another proof point in our commitment to deliver the best-in-class mobile experiences to consumers at every price.”

Here’s a breakdown of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 features:

  • Performance Improvement: The Qualcomm Kryo CPU offers a nearly 20% boost in performance and 45% better power efficiency. The Qualcomm Adreno GPU delivers up to 40% more performance for gaming, while the AI Engine improves AI tasks by over 30%. The platform also provides 12% additional power savings.
  • Smart AI: The on-device AI capabilities enhance user interactions and efficiency. Features include multi-language translation, noise cancellation, and an improved Micro NPU within the Qualcomm Sensing Hub.
  • Camera Capabilities: The Qualcomm Spectra Triple ISP supports simultaneous photo and video capture with fast processing. AI-enhanced features like AI Remosaic and AI Video Retouch improve photo and video quality.
