AT&T announced three new Android handsets from Motorola: the Flipout, Bravo, and Flipside. All three ran Android 2.1 with the latest version of MOTOBLUR and carried unique form factors. Once these arrived, AT&T would have eight Android devices available.
The Flipout featured a square pivot design that swiveled open to reveal a five-row QWERTY keyboard. Specs included a 720MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 512MB ROM, a 3-megapixel camera, and a 2GB microSD card. Available October 17 for $79.99 with a two-year agreement, no rebate required.
The Bravo was the most powerful of the three, with an 800MHz processor, a 3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen, a 3-megapixel camera, 512MB RAM, 2GB ROM, and DLNA support for streaming to other devices. Available for the holiday period at $129.99, no rebate required.
The Flipside offered a slide-out QWERTY keyboard with a 3.1-inch HVGA display and a laptop-style trackpad for one-handed navigation. Specs matched the Flipout with a 720MHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 512MB ROM. Available for the holiday period at $99.99, no rebate required.
All three supported Wi-Fi, and AT&T customers received access to the carrier’s national Wi-Fi network of more than 23,000 hotspots as part of their data plan. Enhanced MOTOBLUR features included social networking widget filtering, up to seven customizable home screens, battery management modes, and remote wipe for lost or stolen devices.
