Motorola has put a price and a U.S. release date on its most ambitious traditional flagship in years. The motorola signature 27 will cost $1,599.99 with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with preorders opening November 19 and general availability beginning November 26.
The phone was teased earlier this fall, but today’s announcement fills in the bigger picture: a high-end camera system, an unusually large battery, a very bright display, and a software support promise meant to give buyers some confidence in that four-figure investment.
A Snapdragon Flagship with a 7,000mAh Battery

The Signature 27 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, paired with a cooling system that uses diamond-infused thermal gel and a vapor chamber. Motorola is positioning that combination for demanding games, on-device AI, and sustained performance, although independent testing will determine how well it holds up.
Its 6.8-inch tandem AMOLED display supports a claimed peak brightness of up to 12,000 nits under specific conditions. That’s an eye-catching number, but it should not be confused with the brightness users will see across the entire screen during ordinary use. Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 and IP68/IP69 ratings add some reassurance on the durability front.
Motorola has also fitted a 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. The company claims up to 77 hours of battery life, though actual results will depend on settings and usage.
A 200MP Zoom Camera and a Different Approach to Motion

On the back, the camera system pairs a 50MP main camera using Sony’s LYTIA L910 sensor with a 200MP periscope telephoto offering 3x optical zoom. There’s also a 50MP ultrawide camera and a dedicated Event Vision Sensor that detects changes in light at the pixel level to capture motion information. A 50MP front camera handles selfies and video calls.
The Event Vision Sensor is the more unusual addition here. Rather than simply pushing the megapixel count higher, Motorola is trying a separate sensor designed to help with motion-related imaging tasks. Whether that translates into meaningfully better photos and video remains a question for hands-on testing.
Seven Years of Updates and a Privacy-focused Option

Motorola promises seven Android OS upgrades and up to seven years of security updates, measured from the phone’s global launch date. The Signature 27 also supports Motorola’s Qira AI features and Google Gemini experiences, with audio tuned in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen.
Another noteworthy detail is Motorola’s collaboration with the GrapheneOS Foundation. The company says the Signature 27 is designed to support the privacy-focused Android-based operating system. That’s a distinctive talking point for security-conscious enthusiasts, though buyers should check the project’s actual installation availability and requirements rather than assume it is preinstalled.
Motorola Signature 27 Price and Availability
The universally unlocked Motorola Signature 27 will be available to preorder November 19 through Motorola, Amazon, and Best Buy. Sales begin November 26 at an MSRP of $1,599.99 for the 12GB/512GB U.S. configuration.
At that price, the Signature 27 is competing directly with the most expensive mainstream Android flagships. Its battery capacity, camera hardware, promised updates, and GrapheneOS support make a credible case on paper. The harder part will be convincing buyers that Motorola belongs on the same premium shopping list as Samsung and Google.
