Acer officially announced the Iconia Tab A200, a 10.1-inch Android tablet launching in select countries in November with Android 3.2 Honeycomb, with a worldwide Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version planned for January 2012. Existing A200 buyers would receive the ICS update free at that time.
Key specs: a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor with a gyrometer, 1GB RAM, 8GB or 16GB storage, a 10.1-inch WXGA multi-touch display, a 2-megapixel front-facing camera, a full-size USB port, a microSD card slot, a 3260mAh Li-Po battery, and Acer’s Ring quick-launch interface. Available in Titanium Gray and Metallic Red. No pricing was announced at the time, though the speculation was that it would need to come in under $300 to be competitive with the Kindle Fire and other 10-inch tablets.
