Verizon confirmed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus would be available the following day, December 15th, for $299.99 with a new two-year agreement. The announcement came just hours before launch, ending weeks of speculation about the release date.
The Galaxy Nexus on Verizon combined Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with the carrier’s 4G LTE network, covering 190 markets and over 200 million people. Key specs: a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED Contour Display (1280×720) at 9.47mm thin, a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1GB RAM, 32GB onboard storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera with zero shutter lag and 1080p video, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, NFC with Android Beam, Mobile Hotspot for up to 10 devices, and Bluetooth 3.0. Android 4.0 features included Face Unlock, software navigation buttons, the redesigned People app, Google Music cloud streaming, Google+ with Mobile Hangouts, and the full Google Mobile Services suite.
