Verizon announced the Samsung Galaxy Stellar for September 6th, free after a $50 mail-in rebate with a two-year service agreement. An entry-level Android 4.0 device designed for first-time smartphone buyers, it featured a dual-interface system: Starter Mode offered a simplified home screen with preset widgets for Favorite Apps, Favorite Contacts, and Favorite Settings, plus a quick dialer; Standard Mode provided a traditional Android layout. A Help app with guided tours was included.
Key specs: a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, a 4-inch WVGA display (800×480), a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, microSD expansion to 32GB, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
