Flowtica has announced the commercial availability of the upgraded retail version of the Flowtica Scribe, an AI-powered recording pen designed to combine handwritten note-taking with voice recording and automated meeting summaries. The latest version builds on the company’s original Kickstarter release with refinements to both the hardware and software, making it better suited for professionals who spend more time in conference rooms than behind a keyboard.
Unlike traditional AI meeting assistants that rely on laptops or smartphones, the Flowtica Scribe is built around a familiar writing experience. Users write on standard paper with a refillable gel pen while the device records conversations through an integrated microphone. After a meeting, the companion app organizes the captured content into summaries, decisions, action items, and follow-up tasks.
Designed for In-Person Meetings
Flowtica positions the Scribe as a productivity tool for conversations that happen away from video calls. The upgraded model introduces adaptive AI audio capture that automatically switches between recording modes based on the surrounding environment, replacing the manual microphone selector found on the original version.

The pen includes a dedicated FlowMark button that lets users flag important moments during a meeting without reaching for their phone. Those markers can identify key decisions, quotes, or tasks, making it easier to revisit important points later.
The companion app extends the experience with features such as “Snap It,” which allows users to photograph handwritten notes, whiteboards, or presentation slides so visual information becomes part of the meeting record. Users can then search meetings by topic, speaker, or task using Flowtica’s AI tools.
Improvements for iPhone and Android Users
One of the larger upgrades is Apple MFi certification, allowing background syncing on iPhone and iPad without requiring users to keep the app open. The charging case now supports Apple Find My, making it a little less likely to vanish into the same mysterious dimension that seems to collect pens and USB drives.
Android users receive a similar automated workflow by keeping the Flowtica app running in the background while remaining within Bluetooth range. Once recording stops, audio transfers wirelessly and processing continues without additional interaction.

The Scribe features a studio-grade MEMS microphone with a recording range of up to 16.4 feet (5 meters), 32GB of onboard storage, support for identifying up to 15 voices, and up to 30 hours of recording from the pen itself. Pairing it with the charging case extends recording time to as much as 100 hours. The device supports 39 languages and includes encryption for recordings in transit and at rest, with Flowtica stating recordings are not used to train AI models without explicit user consent.
Pricing and Availability
The upgraded Flowtica Scribe is available now in Satin Gunmetal and Silver Gray finishes.
