Verizon Eliminates Activation Fees, Launches New Loyalty Program and Simplified Wireless Plans

Verizon has announced a broad set of customer-focused changes aimed at simplifying wireless service, reducing fees, and offering more flexibility across its mobile and home internet offerings.

The announcement marks the next phase of the carrier’s ongoing transformation efforts, with changes that affect both existing and new customers. Among the headline updates are the elimination of activation and upgrade fees, a new loyalty program available across all plans, and the introduction of two new service offerings: Verizon Simplicity and Verizon One.

“We’re fundamentally reshaping Verizon inside and out to put the customer at the center of everything we do,” said Verizon CEO Dan Schulman. “For too long, this industry has burdened people with complex plans, forced upgrades they don’t need, and so-called rewards with tons of caveats.”

Verizon Loyalty Opens to All Customers

One of the most notable changes is the expansion of Verizon’s loyalty program to all customers, regardless of their plan.

Customers who opt into Verizon Loyalty through the My Verizon app will no longer pay activation or device upgrade fees on postpaid phone and connected device plans. Verizon says those charges can amount to as much as $40 per device.

The company is also introducing Verizon Dollars, a rewards system that gives customers 3% back every month simply for maintaining service. Beginning in July, those rewards can be redeemed toward devices, accessories, or select partner offers from brands including Sephora, Hilton, Marriott, and Starbucks.

Another piece of the loyalty initiative is Verizon Shine, a year-round promotion featuring weekly sweepstakes and daily giveaways. Customers can enter for a chance to win experiences tied to sports, entertainment, travel, and food, with upcoming prizes ranging from FIFA World Cup 2026 Final experiences to NFL international game trips and exclusive festival access.

Daily promotions will include offers such as free coffee, restaurant treats, gift cards, event tickets, and merchandise.

Verizon Simplicity Removes Network Tiers

Verizon is also introducing a new wireless plan called Verizon Simplicity, designed to remove many of the decisions and tradeoffs that often accompany mobile service plans.

Priced at $45 per month, with an introductory offer of $30 per line for customers switching to Verizon, the plan includes access to Verizon’s full 5G network, including 5G Ultra Wideband. Rather than placing customers into different network performance tiers, Verizon is making its fastest 5G experience available to all Simplicity subscribers.

The plan includes unlimited 5G Ultra Wideband data, 10GB of premium mobile hotspot usage, roaming in Canada and Mexico, and satellite texting support. Customers can add home internet service starting at $35 per month.

Verizon says Simplicity is intended to separate connectivity from device financing. Customers can bring their own phone, purchase a new device, choose a certified pre-owned model, or opt for annual upgrade programs through Simplicity Plus or Simplicity Pro.

Optional bundles focused on entertainment and travel will be available for customers who want to customize their service further.

Verizon One Combines Mobile and Home Service

For customers looking to consolidate services, Verizon has introduced Verizon One.

The new offering combines mobile and home internet service into a single package with one bill and one monthly price. Verizon One is available for $70 per month, with taxes and fees included.

Managed entirely through the My Verizon app, the service combines Verizon’s wireless network and fiber-based home internet offerings into a unified account experience.

Marketing Campaign Brings Familiar Faces Back

To promote the new initiatives, Verizon has launched a national marketing campaign featuring members of the original Austin Powers cast, including Mike Myers reprising his role as Dr. Evil. A separate Spanish-language campaign reunites cast members from the popular television series Yo soy Betty, la fea.

Verizon says the latest changes are part of a broader, multi-year effort to create simpler products and improve the customer experience. Customers interested in Verizon Loyalty, Verizon Simplicity, or Verizon One can learn more through the My Verizon app and on Verizon’s website.
