Verizon and Motorola announced two DROID RAZR updates at CES. The DROID RAZR Maxx added a much larger battery capable of over 21 hours of continuous talk time, at the cost of 1.29mm of additional thickness over the original RAZR. It came with 32GB of storage and would run $299.99 with a two-year agreement. The specs were otherwise identical to the RAZR.
Alongside the Maxx, Verizon announced the DROID RAZR in purple, joining the existing black and white color options. The 16GB purple RAZR was priced at $199.99 with a two-year contract.
Both the DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR Maxx were confirmed to receive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates, as would the DROID XyBoard tablets. No timeframe was given. Both new DROID devices would be available in Verizon stores and online in the coming weeks.
