Huawei announced two things at CES: an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update to the existing MediaPad tablet, and a new MediaPad Color Series running Android 3.2 Honeycomb. The ICS-updated MediaPad became the world’s first tablet to ship with Android 4.0 at the time of announcement.
The Color Series came in shadow black, classic brown, and passion pink. Both the updated MediaPad and the Color Series shared the same core hardware: a 1280×800 display at 217 PPI, a Qualcomm dual-core 1.2GHz processor, 1080p Full HD video playback, and up to 6 hours of battery life. Both were planned to hit the market in Q1 2012, with existing MediaPad owners receiving the ICS update in the same period.
