ULTRALOQ’s Latest Update Targets Households, Rentals, and Offices

ULTRALOQ’s Latest Update Targets Households, Rentals, and Offices

ULTRALOQ, a leading smart lock brand under Xthings, has rolled out a major software update for its Bolt NFC smart lock that finally brings Android users into the tap-to-unlock fold. The update, now live through the U home app on Google Play, enables seamless NFC unlocking for nearly all Android smartphones, making the lock one of the most inclusive options available today.

Keyless Entry, No Strings (or Screens) Attached

The Bolt NFC was initially praised for supporting Apple’s Home Key, letting iPhone and Apple Watch owners breeze in with a simple tap. With this update, Android users get the same no-fuss treatment: just touch an NFC-enabled phone to the lock, screen off or on, and the door opens. No app launches, no fiddling with settings, just a quick tap and you’re in.

This marks a sharp contrast from competing smart locks that tie NFC support to a single ecosystem or proprietary hardware. ULTRALOQ now covers the widest range of tap-based access methods, including:

  • Android NFC smartphones
  • Apple Home Key (iPhone & Apple Watch)
  • NFC/RFID cards
  • NFC/RFID tags
  • ULTRALOQ key fobs

Inclusive by Design

Raj Sundar, Senior Product Director at Xthings, emphasized that inclusivity is central to the update: “Where other companies chose to be exclusive, we chose to be inclusive. Now, every member of the household—whether they use iOS or Android—can enjoy the same convenience and security with a simple tap.”

By bridging both major mobile ecosystems, ULTRALOQ positions the Bolt NFC as the go-to smart lock for mixed-device households. The brand’s strategy underscores flexibility and user choice, avoiding the “either-or” limitations seen elsewhere in the market.

Price and Availability

The ULTRALOQ Bolt NFC – Works With Apple Home Key retails for $199.99 and is available at ultraloq.com, Amazon, and the tm:rw flagship store in New York. Android NFC support arrives as a free software update to the U home app, which began rolling out on September 5, 2025.

More details and product information are available on the official ULTRALOQ website.
