Speediance is expanding its connected fitness lineup with the announcement of the Speediance Strap, a screen-free wearable engineered to track core body temperature directly from the wrist. Officially revealed in Berlin, the new device integrates thermal-sensing tech directly into the brand’s existing strength ecosystem, giving lifters and athletes a closer look at what their physiology is doing before, during, and after a workout.
Bringing Core Temperature Out of the Lab
Historically, capturing accurate core body temperature required cumbersome, clinical tools; think ingestible sensor capsules or invasive laboratory probes. Speediance bypassed those uncomfortable hurdles by collaborating with Swiss thermal-sensing specialist greenteg.

Using greenteg’s Calera sensor technology, the Speediance Strap monitors temperature fluctuations from the wrist in real time. Rather than crowding your wrist with another display full of buzzing notifications, the wearable is completely screenless. The hardware focuses solely on gathering physiological data quietly in the background, designed specifically for everyday training and recovery routines rather than digital distraction.
Honing in on Peak Performance Windows
While standard fitness equipment measures the mechanical output of a workout like reps, sets, and weight lifted, internal readiness is often left to guesswork. The Speediance Strap addresses this by focusing on thermal adaptation, heat stress, and exertion patterns across three key fitness applications:
- Identifying Peak Windows: Core temperature naturally fluctuates throughout the day, helping users pinpoint optimal time slots for heavy strength work or high-intensity intervals.
- Warm-Up Readiness: The continuous curve indicates when a warm-up routine has actually primed the body for rigorous exertion.
- Monitoring Heat Load: Real-time metrics track internal heat stress during intense efforts, providing an early signal before overexertion takes over.
Speediance explicitly notes that the Strap is an athletic monitoring tool rather than a medical diagnostic device. Instead of relying on single, isolated readings, its utility comes from analyzing long-term physiological trends alongside the workout data generated by the company’s flagship Gym Monster series.

A Deeper Read On Daily Recovery
Beyond active lifting sessions, the continuous temperature curve adds valuable context to off-mat recovery metrics, including sleep quality and daily stress loads. By pairing baseline temperature shifts with resistance training metrics, users get a clearer picture of whether poor recovery might be holding back their physical output.
On the software side, the Speediance Strap functions without a mandatory subscription, though the company plans to offer optional paid memberships to unlock extra software features.
Availability And First Looks
Following its unveiling in Berlin, the Speediance Strap is scheduled for an official launch on September 17, 2026. Attendees at IFA 2026 can see the device in person at Hall 12, Stand 121. While retail pricing has not yet been announced, further release updates and platform compatibility details are expected to arrive through the official Speediance website ahead of its mid-September rollout.
