TDM. has brought a fresh spin to personal audio at IFA 2026 in Berlin, giving attendees a first look at Neo, a dual-purpose hybrid device that converts from a set of on-ear headphones into a palm-sized portable Bluetooth speaker with a physical twist. The device is scheduled for an official commercial rollout later this year, but it is making its European debut on the trade show floor.
A Four-Driver Setup Built for Solo and Social Listening
Rather than asking listeners to choose between packing headphones or tossing a separate Bluetooth speaker into their bag, the TDM. Neo blends both use cases into a single frame. The hardware relies on an audio array consisting of four individual 40mm drivers. Two inward-facing drivers handle personal on-ear listening with a focused, balanced sound profile, while two outward-facing drivers kick in to blast room-filling audio when the earcups are rotated outward.
David Brailsford, co-founder of TDM.—short for “Tomorrow Doesn’t Matter”—noted that the brand created the device to let users shift effortlessly from personal focus to a shared hangout without having to re-pair their gear.
Customizable Controls and Ergonomic Fit
Beyond the swiveling mechanism, the TDM. Neo offers thoughtful physical and software controls. The device features four onboard buttons dedicated to power, volume adjustments, and toggling between playback modes. The signature twist motion is also customizable, letting users map the mechanical action to switch output modes, pause audio, or shut down the device entirely.
For wireless performance, Neo integrates dual-mode Bluetooth 6.0, providing broad compatibility across older source devices as well as modern handsets. The frame is built with an adjustable headband engineered for balanced clamping force and wrapped in soft vegan leather. Dual-layer memory foam earpads round out the build to maintain comfort during extended listening sessions.
Battery Life and Fast-Charging Speeds
Battery longevity is where the Neo truly flexes its muscles. In standard headphone mode, the internal battery delivers an eye-popping playback time of over 200 hours. Pushing sound through the outward-facing speaker array naturally demands more power, yielding a respectable 16 hours of continuous speaker output.
When the tank finally hits empty, the device juices up via USB-C. A full battery cycle takes three hours, while a quick five-minute emergency plug-in supplies enough power for eight hours of personal headphone playtime.
