Ottocast is branching beyond its traditional aftermarket wireless adapters with the debut of Ottosafe, a new safety-focused hardware family unveiled at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Known primarily for bridging factory head units to modern phone-mirroring platforms, the automotive accessory maker is using the trade show to showcase how physical controls and cabin cameras can work together to keep drivers’ eyes on the asphalt.
The initial rollout is led by two distinct devices: the Ottosafe Knob, a dedicated physical controller for wireless Apple CarPlay, and an upgraded edition of Cabin Care, the brand’s in-cabin child-monitoring setup.
Ottosafe Knob: Restoring Tactile Control to Touchscreen Cockpits

Modern vehicle dashboards have largely abandoned physical dials in favor of expansive gloss panels, meaning drivers often have to hunt for tiny on-screen targets just to switch playlists or check a route. The Ottosafe Knob is built to counteract that screen fatigue.
Engineered as a plug-and-play tactile accessory for compatible Ottocast wireless CarPlay systems, the device relies on a rotary-and-press dial. Instead of glancing over to tap virtual buttons, drivers can navigate lists, confirm selections, adjust audio playback, and jump back to the map using muscle memory alone. By introducing positive physical feedback into the interface, the controller aims to make everyday phone-mirroring operation genuinely “blind-friendly,” reducing visual distraction behind the wheel.
Upgraded Cabin Care: Smarter In-Cabin Monitoring for Family Travel
For parents, rear-facing car seats and active toddlers present a different kind of driving hazard: the urge to turn around while cruising down the highway. The refreshed Ottocast Cabin Care tackles this by streaming high-definition video of the back row directly onto the main infotainment display.

The updated hardware supports both Split-Screen and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) modes, allowing navigation to run uninterrupted while keeping an eye on the back seat. Under the hood, the new model receives an upgraded automotive-grade chipset, increased memory, and an improved Bluetooth module.
Crucially, Ottocast has broadened the system’s baseline connectivity. The new unit now functions as a dual conversion bridge, transforming wired CarPlay setups into wireless CarPlay, and wired Android Auto connections into wireless Android Auto. That dual-platform compatibility allows the hardware to double as an everyday wireless adapter even when child-monitoring duties are off the clock.
Expanding the Aftermarket Smart Cockpit
With the introduction of the Ottosafe umbrella, Ottocast is shifting its catalog toward a more unified cabin ecosystem, blending in-car entertainment, phone integration, and passenger safety. Official retail pricing and exact regional availability dates have not yet been announced.
