Smart home brand SONOFF took the stage at IFA 2026 to showcase a wide-ranging expansion of its open hardware ecosystem. Introducing novel solutions for climate management, security monitoring, and whole-home automation, the company reiterated its commitment to multi-protocol interoperability across Matter, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Thread, and Wi-Fi platforms.

Unlike brands that trap users within proprietary walled gardens, SONOFF builds devices that link seamlessly into third-party ecosystems such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, and Home Assistant. Through the underlying eWeLink management platform, the company’s hardware coordinates complex automation routines without forcing consumers to overhaul their preferred smart home software.

Next-Gen Climate Control: TRV Gen2 & Thermostat Core

SONOFF expanded its climate management lineup with two distinct additions built around the Zigbee protocol:

TRV Gen2 Thermostatic Radiator Valve: Engineered for individual room heating control, the TRV Gen2 uses a refined temperature algorithm to manage radiator output. The device features an IPS color display alongside a physical rotary control knob for manual adjustments. It offers open-window detection—which automatically pauses heating when sudden temperature drops or open door/window sensor triggers occur—plus custom schedules, boost modes, and frost protection.
Thermostat Core: Built specifically for hydronic underfloor heating and central boiler setups, this smart thermostat replaces outdated mechanical units. It provides a 3A active output for hydronic actuators and a dry-contact terminal for direct boiler control. Homeowners can configure three distinct schedule profiles with up to 12 daily time slots, connect external NTC temperature sensors to guard against floor overheating, and link with presence sensors to adjust heating based on real-time room occupancy.

Intelligent Security: CAM GlassView & SenseGuard Siren

Addressing home surveillance and hazard alerts, SONOFF revealed two safety-focused devices:

CAM GlassView Smart Window Camera: Designed to capture exterior footage without requiring outdoor mounting or drilling, this 2K smart camera mounts directly against the interior side of a glass window pane. Intelligent image processing works to eliminate glass reflections and glare while providing full-color night vision. The camera supports dual-band Wi-Fi, motion and human recognition, local microSD storage, and RTSP/ONVIF streams for direct NVR network integration. Users can also manage feeds locally through the OpenEdge web console.
SenseGuard Indoor Siren: Operating over Zigbee 3.0, this security siren delivers customizable 105 dB audio alerts paired with a bright red warning light. It packs 10 selectable alarm tones, configurable volume, and anti-tamper mechanisms. Power is supplied via USB-C with an internal backup battery to safeguard against power cuts. The siren can link with connected door/window sensors, water leak detectors, and motion sensors across the system to trigger coordinated alerts.

Open Connectivity and Expanding Hardware Lineup

Beyond the headline releases, SONOFF demonstrated a massive supporting lineup at its IFA booth, including the NSPanel Pro Gen2 control center, the Bridge Max Matter Bridge, the Z-Wave 800 PoE Dongle Max, and the SenseGuard Presence Core occupancy sensor. Additional utility gear included the Hydro Duo Smart Water Valve, the rugged S61s Outdoor Smart Plug, and the updated TX Gen2 Smart Touch Wall Switch.

By linking these sensors, switches, and controllers together, homeowners can establish conditional automations—such as cutting off water lines when a leak is detected, turning on pathway lights upon motion sensing, or throttling boiler output when a home goes unoccupied.
