Tech innovator Hohem has officially taken the wraps off its newest flagship creation, the Eyepic, at IFA 2026. Billed as the world’s first dual-mode pocket gimbal camera, the ultra-compact device aims to redefine mobile content creation by fusing pro-grade 3-axis stabilization with a modular, wearable design.
Modular Design Meets Hands-Free Filming
The standout feature of the Eyepic is its modular setup. Creators can use the device as a traditional handheld gimbal or detach the lightweight camera head to wear it as a body cam. Accessories like an included hat clip, magnetic mounts, and a neck lanyard allow for effortless hands-free recording during travel, action sports, or daily adventures.
Even when un-clipped, the main body continues to act as a wireless control station. Users can preview 1080p live footage and tweak settings via the handle’s 2.51-inch touchscreen from up to 10 meters (32.8 feet) away. For underwater enthusiasts, the detached camera module features a 10-meter (32.8 ft) waterproof rating without requiring an extra case.
Native Vertical 4K for Social-First Creators
Unlike traditional cameras that rely on digital cropping for portrait videos, the Eyepic physically rotates its sensor to deliver true, full-resolution vertical 4K footage. By simply twisting the integrated display, the camera flips into portrait mode, shooting at up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second. This design choice ensures maximum clarity and dynamic range for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts right out of the box.
Expanding the Creator Ecosystem
Alongside the Eyepic, Hohem showcased a broader suite of intelligent production tools at its Messe Berlin booth (Hall 20-123):
- iSteady V4 Ultra: A premium smartphone gimbal packed with native Apple DockKit tracking, subject-following tech, and a detachable touchscreen remote.
- iSteady X4: A lightweight mobile stabilizer offering full 360-degree pan movement and intuitive touch controls for quick setup.
- Hohem Mic 2: A versatile wireless audio system capable of pairing up to four featherweight (7.7g) transmitters to a single receiver, featuring AI noise cancellation and a 300-meter range.
