Hisense is giving the big screen a bit more freedom with RoamView, a 32-inch 4K touchscreen display designed to move from room to room rather than live permanently on a wall or entertainment stand.
Available now in the U.S., RoamView combines a large touch-enabled display with an adjustable freestanding base and up to 10 hours of cord-free operation. The idea is straightforward: instead of finding a permanent home for another screen, users can bring this one wherever they need it.
That could mean following a recipe in the kitchen, streaming a workout in another room, catching up on a show from bed, or rolling the display outside when the weather cooperates.
A Big Screen That Doesn’t Need a Permanent Home
The RoamView sits on an adjustable stand that allows users to raise, lower, tilt, and swivel the 32-inch display into position. Hisense also includes a table easel option for situations where the full stand isn’t needed.
That flexibility gives RoamView something closer to the personality of an oversized tablet than a conventional television.
The built-in battery provides up to 10 hours of cord-free use, according to Hisense, which removes the need to park the display near an outlet every time it moves.
At 32 inches, RoamView is considerably larger than a typical tablet or laptop while retaining touchscreen controls. Users can tap, swipe, and pinch directly on the 4K display instead of relying entirely on a remote.
Built for More Than Streaming
Hisense is positioning RoamView as a multipurpose display rather than simply a portable TV.
Along with streaming movies and television, the display can serve as a video calling station, kitchen recipe screen, smart home control panel, digital art display, or presentation screen.
A built-in wide-angle camera is designed to automatically keep users framed during video calls, presentations, or livestreams, eliminating the need for a separate webcam.
The larger touchscreen could also make RoamView useful for guided workouts or other activities where a phone or tablet screen starts feeling a little cramped.
“RoamView is about meeting people where they actually live, not where a TV traditionally has to sit,” said David Gold, Chief Commercial Officer and Deputy General Manager at Hisense USA.
Part of Hisense’s Growing Lifestyle Lineup
RoamView continues Hisense’s push into displays designed around more flexible living spaces. Rather than asking buyers to build a room around a television, the company is experimenting with screens that can adapt to different parts of the home.
It’s a niche that sits somewhere between a TV, tablet, smart display, and mobile workstation. RoamView isn’t pocketable by any stretch, but at least this 32-inch screen isn’t demanding permanent custody of a wall.
