Motorola Launches 2026 Razr Flip Family

Motorola Launches 2026 Razr Flip Family

Motorola just pulled the wraps off its 2026 razr flip lineup, and the company isn’t being subtle about its ambitions. Three new devices are hitting shelves in May: the razr ultra, razr+, and standard razr. Each slots into a different price tier while sharing the same external display DNA that made the previous generation worth a second look.

Razr Ultra Aims for the Top

The razr ultra is Motorola’s flagship flip for 2026. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and packs a triple 50MP camera system with AI processing baked in. The 4.0-inch external display is the largest you’ll find on a flip phone, which matters when you’re trying to actually use the thing without opening it every thirty seconds.

Battery capacity got a boost, and Motorola says fast charging is part of the package. The finishes include Alcantara and wood, materials that feel more like luxury watch territory than smartphone land. Whether that appeals to you probably depends on how you feel about phones that double as conversation pieces.

Pre-orders start May 14 at Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola’s site. It goes on sale unlocked May 21 for $1,499.99.

Razr+ Splits the Difference

The razr+ sits in the middle of the lineup. It has the same 4.0-inch external screen as the ultra and a dual 50MP camera system that also leans on AI. Motorola didn’t specify which Snapdragon chip powers this one, just that it’s “flagship performance.” Make of that what you will.

All-day battery life and fast charging are in. The vegan leather finish comes in Pantone colors, which Motorola seems to think is a selling point. It probably is for some people.

Same pre-order and release schedule as the ultra. Pricing is $1,099.99 unlocked, though carriers might adjust that. AT&T gets it May 21. T-Mobile customers will have to wait a bit longer.

Standard Razr Goes After Volume

The base razr targets people who want the flip experience without the four-digit price tag. It costs $799.99, which puts it closer to mainstream phone pricing. The external display shrinks to 3.6 inches, and you get a dual 50MP camera setup without the ultra’s third lens.

Motorola built this one for durability. MIL-spec construction and IP48 water resistance mean it should survive more abuse than earlier razr models. The finishes include something called Acetate, which is a new one.

Flex View lets you prop the phone open partway for hands-free shots, which actually works better than you’d think for group photos or video calls.

Carrier availability is broader here. Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola direct on May 14 for pre-orders, then May 21 for unlocked sales. Boost Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Verizon, Visible, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, and Cox Mobile all get it May 21. T-Mobile and Cricket Wireless are coming later.

Razr Fold and Accessories Join the Party

Motorola also announced the razr fold, which is exactly what it sounds like. This isn’t a flip phone. It’s a book-style foldable with a bigger screen and a focus on productivity. The moto pen ultra stylus pairs with it and costs $99.99 separately.

The razr fold runs $1,899.99 unlocked. Pre-orders start May 14 at Best Buy and Motorola.com, with sales beginning May 21. T-Mobile, Xfinity Mobile, and Verizon will carry it eventually.

Rounding out the announcement are the moto buds 2 plus earbuds. They’re $149.99 and launch April 30 on Motorola.com. Pantone Silhouette is the only color mentioned, which probably means more options are coming.

Motorola clearly wants to own the flip phone category for 2026. Whether three models at three price points does the trick depends on how many people actually want to fold their phones in half. But if you’re in that camp, you’ve got options now.

More details are available on the official Motorola website.
