It’s a new year, and this means new tech in our world. A fresh calendar also brings out wild attempts at innovation in many segments of connected devices, showcasing creativity and ambition like never before. Many of these ambitious products never reach store shelves or fail miserably when they do, but pushing the limits of what technology can achieve is essential for advancement in the industry.
Eufy is back this year with a device that fits this category, bringing fresh ideas to the table and reimagining how we interact with our gadgets. In my mind, it is a glowing success, not only because of its innovative features but also due to its user-friendly design that resonates with tech enthusiasts and casual users alike.
Say hello to the future of vacuum cleaners with the eufy E20 3-in-1 robovac system.
Design
At first glance from the images on the retail box you’d mistake this for another Roomba competitor. Well, it is, but it expands on that in a very literal sense. The “base” of the E20 is indeed a robovac. It’s housed in the same circular robot silhouette we’ve grown accustom to, with all the LiDAR, motion sensors, and roller brushes you’d expect.
There’s even a charging base for the E20 vacuum. Here it returns “home” and charges when it needs a refreshment. It also houses a self-cleaning tower like the eufy S1 Pro. This takes a small expandable bag and uses a stationary vacuum to remove the dirt bin of the robovac.
If it stopped there, it would be a good home vacuum from eufy. However, the truly game-changing feature here is the main chassis and motor of the robot can be removed from the E20’s housing. Yep, you just pull the heart out. This allows you to then use the vacuum as a stick vac or small household dust buster.

Setup
Getting the eufy E20 up and running is fairly straightforward. There’s very little to assemble of the base and robovac portions. You take them out of the box and find a decent outlet to give it power. You should then allot at least an hour for the initial charging period.

Next, you need to grab the eufy Clean app for the nuts and bolts of controlling the E20. There are a few physical buttons for starting a cleaning cycle or pausing the bot, but most of your time will be in the app. Here you go through a very clean, interactive setup wizard that guides you through connecting to Wi-Fi, giving it a name if you’d like, and finally seeing if the hardware needs a firmware update.
With the eufy E20, cleaning evolves from a chore to a versatile, 3-in-1 powerhouse that adapts to every need—whether it’s a quick spot clean or a full-home sweep.
The last step of the setup process is the inaugural cleaning cycle. Here, you need to decide how much and how many rooms you want the eufy E20 to have access to in your home. During this first run of the robovac, it will map your home for future cycles. The mapping process is one of the best I’ve seen with the robot vacuum avoiding all hazards and furniture in each room using the combination of sensors.

Performance
As the name implies, the 3-in-1 is a very literal interpretation on this one. All three phrases of the E20 have been great in practice. It’s been a few years since I’ve sampled a robovac and the jump in tech is pretty solid. As mentioned, the new sensors of LiDAR triple laser array and cameras do a fantastic job of navigating my space.
The 30,000 Pa of suction power adapts while it’s going around my home as well. It senses the not only the amount of dirt, but also the type of surface to influence the suction power. I’ve found it consistently knows that it’s in a rough spot on my hard flooring and turns it up even further when hitting our rugs.
But let’s be real, that’s not why you’re reading this review. The fact that you can detach the heart and soul of this vacuum and use it two other ways is truly innovative. I first tried the smaller “dust buster” option. This is essentially just the main portion of the E20 vac with attachments directly snapped into place. It’s surprisingly not unwieldy and has decent ergonomics in this mode. The controls end up at the “top” of the detachable hub, making it perfect to move around the house hitting sofas, blinds, and base boards.

Moving to the final piece of the eufy E20 puzzle is the full stick vac option. This is a longer rod attachment with a full brush head and rollers at the bottom. This makes it comparable to power sweepers you’d find at any retail outlet. Pushing the button on the top handle sorts through a few different power levels to get the cleaning suction you need for any surface.

Final thoughts
The versatility of the eufy E20 3-in-1 vacuum system makes it the most compelling cleaning product I’ve tested in years. The convenience of having a robotic cleaner doing the day-to-day tasks of sweeping up while having the ability to quickly spot clean as well is truly game-changing. Even that is multifaceted with the flexibility of the two separate stick vac and smaller form factor cleaning modes.
The price isn’t unreasonable, either. Full retail is $550, but if you act now, you can catch the pre-order $100 discount and free wall mount for the accessories. Hit the link below before February 9th to get your deals.
