Global AI device company HONOR has officially unveiled the HONOR Robot Phone, a new smartphone designed to blur the line between mobile photography and professional content creation.
The standout feature is its built-in motorized mechanical gimbal, giving the phone the ability to physically move its camera while capturing photos and video. HONOR says the device combines advanced smartphone imaging, robotics and selected technologies from professional cinema specialist ARRI.
A Compact 4-DoF Titanium Gimbal
The Robot Phone incorporates HONOR’s 4-degree-of-freedom Titanium Agile Gimbal, built from more than 100 precision components across 60 manufacturing processes. The company says it has reduced the system’s size by 65 percent while increasing structural strength by 200 percent.
Its lightweight 2.6g titanium gimbal motor can move at up to 360 degrees per second, while the Super Steel Flip Motor provides high torque for rapid and accurate camera positioning.
Cinema-Inspired Camera System
HONOR has partnered with ARRI on cinematic imaging for the Robot Phone, bringing professional filmmaking concepts into a mobile device.
The camera system features a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, alongside a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with 2.7x optical zoom. A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view completes the rear setup.
The phone supports ARRI LogC3, ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks, while its HONOR H1 Image Chip uses AI processing to improve noise reduction and dynamic range. Video can be captured in 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 formats, giving creators greater flexibility during post-production.
AI Turns the Phone Into a Camera Crew
Running on MagicOS, the Robot Phone introduces YOYO Robot Mode, which combines AI perception, gesture recognition and physical camera movement.
Features such as AI Subject Tracking can automatically follow a person as they move, while voice localization helps the camera determine where the user is. Gesture controls also allow creators to operate the camera without touching the phone.
The device supports several automated shooting modes, including Tilt Lock, FPV, FPV Vertical and AI SpinShot. HONOR also provides an Agent Skills interface that allows developers to build new experiences around the phone’s robotics and AI capabilities.
Flagship Hardware and Large Battery
The Robot Phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and uses a custom cooling system designed to maintain performance during demanding tasks such as extended video recording.
Power comes from a 7,060mAh silicon-carbon battery, with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.
The handset features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness of up to 6,800 nits. HONOR also includes its NanoCrystal Shield and 4,320Hz PWM dimming technology for added display protection and viewing comfort.

HONOR says the Robot Phone will initially launch in China in two configurations:
- 12GB + 512GB: RMB 9,999
- 16GB + 1TB: RMB 12,999
Pre-orders opened in China on August 12, 2026, at 8:30 PM, with official sales scheduled to begin on August 18 at 10:08 AM.
Customers will also receive lifetime YOYO AI Membership SVIP benefits and a complimentary accessory package containing items such as a magnetic stand, lanyard and 120W all-in-one charger.
HONOR first showcased the Robot Phone at MWC 2026, before demonstrating its stabilization and tracking capabilities at film events in Cannes and Shanghai. The company says the device is intended to make advanced, cinema-inspired mobile filmmaking more accessible to everyday creators.
