Ultrahuman has released the Emerald Update, a sweeping redesign of its wearable health platform that introduces a new app interface, expanded offline processing, improved workout tracking, and a decision engine built to turn biometric data into practical recommendations.
The update began rolling out globally on July 23 and is available at no charge to all Ultrahuman users. It supports the company’s Ring AIR and Ring PRO smart rings, with several features drawing from other services within the Ultrahuman ecosystem.
UltraSphere Turns Health Data Into Suggested Actions
The centerpiece of the Emerald Update is UltraSphere, which Ultrahuman describes as the first wearable decision engine of its kind.
UltraSphere can generate more than 60 “Next Best Actions” based on a user’s health information and daily circumstances. Recommendations may suggest getting morning sunlight, taking a short walk during an afternoon energy slump, avoiding caffeine later in the day, or dimming lights before bed.

The system works alongside Jade AI, Ultrahuman’s health intelligence layer. It uses data tied to sleep, recovery, heart-rate variability, skin temperature, movement, stress, cycle phase, and glucose readings collected through the Ultrahuman M1 or M2 Live.
Suggestions can account for location, weather, circadian rhythm, and personal profiles such as athletes, new parents, night-shift workers, and travelers dealing with jet lag. In other words, the app aims to move past the familiar wearable routine of presenting a score and leaving the user to solve the puzzle.
A Redesigned App With More Context
Emerald introduces a new interface with light and dark modes, a dedicated Jade AI tab, and a reorganized Ring tab that places timely information closer to the front.
Live View displays current heart rate, stress, steps, and training zones. Windows places time-sensitive information, including caffeine timing, circadian phases, Vitamin D exposure, and screen time, onto a single timeline.
The new Longevity tab collects longer-term measurements such as UltraAge, Pulse Age, Blood Age, and Brain Age. Users can enter results from a laboratory VO₂ Max test to improve UltraAge calculations.

Other additions include weekly goals, a condensed daily activity summary, a personalized science feed, and a simplified PowerPlugs library for managing modular health features.
Improved Heart Rate and VO₂ Max Measurements
Ultrahuman has rebuilt workout tracking for the Ring AIR and Ring PRO, with upgraded automatic workout detection and tagging. New heart-rate algorithms were tested against reference-grade devices across different users and activity types, according to the company.
The app can now use workout data from Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, compatible chest straps, and AirPods Gen 3. This should help users who prefer a dedicated sports watch or chest sensor during weightlifting, running, and other training sessions.
VO₂ Max estimation has received a new algorithm as well. Ultrahuman says the system was validated using CPET laboratory testing involving more than 100 athletes, producing results within 5 mL/kg/min of the lab measurements.
Health Insights Without a Data Connection
Health analysis now runs directly on the connected device, allowing sleep, recovery, movement, stress, and other metrics to remain available without an internet connection.
That means users can view live data and recommendations while flying, hiking, traveling abroad, or spending time beyond cellular coverage. The cloud can take the day off without taking the health dashboard with it.
The Emerald Update is rolling out globally and is free for all Ultrahuman users.
