Total Wireless Expands Device Coverage with new Protect+ Plan

Total Wireless has introduced a new protection plan aimed at reducing the stress that tends to follow a dropped or misplaced phone. Called Total Wireless Protect+, the offering is now available online after an initial rollout across more than 2,000 retail locations.

The plan, which officially launched online March 19, is positioned as the carrier’s most comprehensive protection option to date. It focuses on both physical device coverage and digital security, giving prepaid customers a broader safety net that typically leans toward postpaid perks.

Coverage that Goes Beyond Cracked Screens

Total Wireless developed Protect+ in partnership with Assurant, a company known for device protection and support services. The goal is straightforward: cover the common mishaps, and a few of the less obvious ones too.

The plan includes $0 screen and back glass repairs for select devices when serviced through authorized repair centers. That alone will likely catch attention, as repair costs have a habit of climbing faster than phone prices.

Loss and theft protection is part of the package, allowing customers to request a replacement device if their phone goes missing. Mechanical and electrical failures are covered even after the manufacturer’s warranty expires, which fills a gap that many users only notice once something stops working.

When replacements are needed, Total Wireless says devices can arrive as soon as the next business day. That kind of turnaround aims to minimize downtime, especially for users who rely on their phones for work or daily logistics.

A “Plus” Approach to Digital Security

Where Protect+ separates itself is in its bundled digital services. Subscribers can choose one premium add-on and switch it every 30 days, which gives the plan a bit more flexibility than typical static bundles.

Options include Norton 360 Standard for malware protection and VPN access, LifeLock Standard for identity theft monitoring and recovery support, and Norton Family for parental controls and screen time management.

This rotating benefit structure gives users room to adjust based on their current needs, whether that’s locking down personal data or keeping an eye on younger device users at home.

Pricing and Positioning

Total Wireless Protect+ is priced at $8 per month, placing it in a relatively accessible range for prepaid customers. The company frames it as a way to bring higher-tier protection features to a segment that often goes without them.

The broader pitch ties into Total Wireless’ use of Verizon’s 5G network, pairing network access with a more complete coverage plan. The idea is simple: fewer surprises when something goes wrong, and fewer hoops to jump through when it does.

Availability and Enrollment Details

The plan is available now for both new and existing customers. It can be added during device checkout online or within 30 days of activation. Current users can enroll by logging into their accounts or visiting a Total Wireless retail location.

More details, including eligibility and full plan terms, can be found on the official Total Wireless website.
