TECNO has pulled back the curtain on a significant expansion of EllaClaw, its exploratory mobile AI agent currently in closed beta. The update positions EllaClaw as a more capable, cross-functional assistant, one that can move fluidly between apps, manage device health, and learn user habits over time, all while keeping the user firmly in the driver’s seat.
A Device That Looks After Itself (and You)
At the core of the expanded EllaClaw experience is a suite of more than 40 Smart Skills focused on system-level device management. TECNO has built in tools like Smart CleanUp Boost, which frees up RAM and CPU resources to address system lag, and Smart Power Drain Check, which identifies battery-hungry apps to help extend device life. During intensive tasks, an Instant Cool-down Relief feature steps in to manage background activity and keep things running smoothly.
For users in emerging markets, a key focus for TECNO, Smart Data Guardian monitors mobile data usage against personal habits, helping reduce the anxiety that comes with limited or expensive data plans. True to TECNO’s stated Practical AI philosophy, major system actions require user confirmation before execution, so nothing happens behind the scenes without sign-off.
More Than a Task Manager
EllaClaw’s persistent memory feature allows the agent to build a picture of user preferences and routines over time. That foundation enables more contextually aware assistance, morning briefings that pull together calendar events, travel itineraries, weather, and news into a single digest, or a Trip Prep Assistant that books rides, sets alarms, and organizes schedules into clearer action items.

There’s also a more personal dimension to the agent’s capabilities. EllaClaw can monitor real-time weather shifts and nudge users to check in with family members or partners, a small but thoughtful touch that reflects TECNO’s broader goal of making AI feel less transactional and more human.
Bridging Apps Without Breaking Trust
Perhaps the most technically ambitious aspect of the update is EllaClaw’s cross-app intelligence. With opt-in permissions, the agent can interact with third-party apps across categories including shopping, transportation, food delivery, and smart home. Rather than operating as an opaque black box, EllaClaw uses GUI comprehension to navigate apps in a visible, step-by-step manner, so users can follow along and understand exactly what the agent is doing.
Practical applications include One-Sentence Ride Hailing via natural language, smart home device monitoring, and a Shopping Buddy feature that searches for the best product options within e-commerce platforms like Lazada.
“With TECNO EllaClaw, we are exploring how agentic AI can become genuinely practical in real mobile life,” said Jack Guo, General Manager of TECNO. “Our goal is to create AI that helps simplify everyday tasks, reduce friction and make advanced experiences more accessible, while ensuring transparency and user control remain central to the experience.”
Still in the Lab, But Pointing Forward
EllaClaw remains an exploratory concept under internal testing and closed beta development. TECNO has not announced a public release date or confirmed which devices will support the feature at launch. The company says further details on availability and capabilities will be shared as development progresses.
