SwitchBot is heading into IFA 2026 with two products aimed at very different parts of daily life. The new AI MindClip is a tiny wearable designed to remember conversations, ideas, and tasks, while the Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo gives European households a retrofit smart-lock system with facial recognition, palm-vein scanning, fingerprint access, and Matter support.
AI MindClip Turns Conversations Into Searchable Notes
The SwitchBot AI MindClip is a 16.8-gram clip-on AI assistant that can attach to clothing or a bag strap and record more than 20 hours continuously. It includes 64GB of local storage and a three-meter near-field pickup range, giving it enough capacity for meetings, classes, errands, family conversations, and those inconveniently timed ideas that tend to disappear five minutes later.
Speaker recognition, speaker separation, and voiceprint recognition help distinguish participants in multi-person conversations. Once recordings are transferred, MindClip can convert them into transcripts, summaries, key points, reminders, and structured notes.
Users can browse captured information through Timeline, Priority, Daily Memory, Weekly Summary, and To-Do Overview views. Tasks can be grouped into categories such as Work and Personal, then synced with Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, and Reminders.
The Ask AI feature lets users search previous conversations in natural language rather than digging through recordings. SwitchBot says the device uses Qwen-Audio-ASR for transcription, plus Alibaba Cloud’s RAG architecture and a Qwen-based model for question answering. The company also references AI capabilities from ChatGPT, Gemini, and other large language models.
MindClip supports encrypted pairing and file transfers, end-to-end encryption, and controls for starting, pausing, or stopping recording. A blinking indicator shows when recording is active. SwitchBot advises users to inform people before recording and to follow local laws.
The AI MindClip arrives September 3 for $119.99 in the US, CAD 159.99 in Canada, and £119.99 in the UK. It includes 300 minutes of transcription and AI service each month at no charge, with paid plans available for heavier use.
Lock Ultra Max Adds 19 Ways To Get Through The Door
SwitchBot’s other IFA announcement focuses on the front door. The Lock Ultra Max Vision Pro Combo combines the new Lock Ultra Max, Keypad Vision Pro, and Matter-enabled Hub Mini into a retrofit system designed for European locks.
Lock Ultra Max installs inside the door without replacing the existing cylinder. Its brushless motor reaches 160 rpm, and SwitchBot says Max Mode can unlock a door in as little as 1.1 seconds under its testing conditions. Quiet Mode provides a less conspicuous option for late-night or early-morning use.
Keypad Vision Pro adds 3D facial recognition, contactless palm-vein recognition, fingerprints, passcodes, and NFC cards. Across the full setup, SwitchBot lists up to 19 unlocking methods, including app controls, smartwatches, voice commands, geofencing, a physical key, and SwitchBot Remote.
The lock uses a 4,200mAh rechargeable battery rated for up to nine months of typical operation, backed by an independent CR123A battery. A residual-power feature can provide up to five emergency unlocks after the main batteries are depleted. Keypad Vision Pro carries its own 5,000mAh battery rated for as long as 12 months.
SwitchBot says the system supports 99% of European locks and connects with compatible platforms, including Apple Home and Home Assistant, through Matter over Bridge.
Preorders begin September 3 through SwitchBot’s EU and UK websites for €339.99 or £339.99. Launch-period purchases made through those sites through September 30 include one year of Max Service for Lock Ultra Max at no added charge. The coverage applies to the lock itself, rather than the keypad or Hub Mini.
