Qualcomm Unveils Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform for Enhanced AI, Photography, and Gaming on Android Flagships

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has officially introduced the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 Mobile Platform, setting a new standard for Android flagship smartphones. This latest addition to Qualcomm’s premium Snapdragon 8-series is equipped with top-tier features aimed at providing extraordinary experiences across generative AI, photography, and gaming.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 boasts an impressive suite of capabilities including powerful on-device generative AI features, an always-sensing ISP (Image Signal Processor), and hyper-realistic mobile gaming. It also sets new benchmarks in connectivity and audio quality with breakthrough connectivity features and lossless high-definition sound.

Notably, the platform is designed to support a wide range of AI models, accommodating popular large language models (LLMs) such as Baichuan-7B, Llama 2, Gemini Nano, and Zhipu ChatGLM.

Chris Patrick, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Mobile Handsets at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., emphasized the platform’s role in enhancing daily user experiences. “Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is crafted to foster creativity and productivity, offering advanced photography features and on-device generative AI,” Patrick stated, highlighting the commitment to elevating consumer experiences with Qualcomm’s most premium mobile offering to date.

The platform has already garnered attention from major OEMs, with Honor, iQOO, realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi poised to adopt Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 for their upcoming devices. William Lu, Partner and President of Xiaomi Corporation, shared his excitement about the collaboration, noting the platform’s potential to deliver personalized premium experiences powered by generative AI.

Expectations are high for the first commercial devices powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, with announcements anticipated in the coming months. This move is set to broaden access to premium 8 series features for more consumers, further enriching the Android smartphone ecosystem.
