The moto g stylus 2026 is officially on sale today, April 16, with unlocked availability at Amazon, Best Buy, and Motorola.com starting at $499.99. It’s $100 more than last year’s model, but Motorola is sweetening the deal with launch bundles that make the price easier to stomach.
What’s New This Year
The headline upgrade is the stylus itself. For the first time in the G Stylus lineup, the built-in pen is fully active, supporting pressure sensitivity and tilt detection in compatible apps. That means variable line weight, broader shading, and a more natural writing feel that previous passive-pen models simply couldn’t deliver. Motorola has also added Handwriting Calculator, which solves handwritten equations instantly, and Sketch to Image, which uses AI to turn rough drawings into polished visuals. Circle to Search with Google is accessible directly from the pen button.
The stylus is rated for 100 hours of standby and nearly four hours of writing, with a full charge in just 15 minutes. It shares the phone’s IP68 and IP69 water resistance ratings.
Beyond the pen, the phone gets a brighter display, up to 5,000 nits peak on a 6.7-inch 1.5K AMOLED at 120Hz, and a bump to 5,200mAh with 68W TurboPower wired charging and 15W wireless charging added for the first time.
