LUMISTAR Opens Preorders for TERO Series Tennis Training Partner

LUMISTAR has introduced its new TERO series, a line of AI-powered tennis training systems designed to act as an always-available practice partner. Preorders are expected to open by April 30, with general sales beginning May 30, 2026.

The lineup includes two models, TERO and TERO Pro, both built to help players improve consistency through more dynamic and responsive practice sessions. The idea is simple: remove the friction of finding a hitting partner and replace it with something that’s always ready to rally.

A More Dynamic Take on Solo Practice

TERO moves beyond the typical ball machine approach by aiming to replicate the feel of real play. Instead of predictable feeds, it delivers varied shots that respond to player movement and timing.

The system comes loaded with 238 built-in drills focused on consistency, shot patterns, and match-style scenarios. Sessions can be started with a single click, and adjustments to speed, spin, or placement can be made using voice and gesture controls. Less menu diving, more hitting.

A wristband tracks positioning and swing speed, allowing TERO to adapt in real time. The result is a practice session that feels more reactive and less like a looped routine.

Core specs include a maximum ball speed of 140 km/h, a range of up to 26 meters, and a maximum height of at least 4.2 meters.

TERO Pro Adds Smarter Feedback

The TERO Pro builds on the base model with a more advanced feature set centered around its Vision Module. This adds real-time visual perception and AI-driven insights during play.

After each session, the system generates performance reports that break down progress and suggest areas for improvement. Over time, these reports build into a training history that players can use to track development.

Hardware upgrades include a 4K dual-focal lens system running at 60fps and an automotive-grade chip designed to support faster, more adaptive responses. The system even includes modes like “All Star Game,” where players can simulate rallies against legends such as Roger Federer and Serena Williams. It’s not quite center court at Wimbledon, but it’s a huge step up from practicing alone.

Built as a Complete System

TERO Pro is designed as an all-in-one setup, combining the machine, ball storage, racket space, and a detachable bag into a single kit. The modular design allows for future upgrades, suggesting the platform could evolve over time.

Across both models, a dual-axis, dual-end gimbal system is used to maintain stable and precise ball delivery, which plays a key role in keeping practice consistent.

Availability

The Lumistar TERO runs $1,299 while the TERO Pro is priced $1,899 with both available in two colors: Cosmic Graphite and Melted Aura.

For players looking to train more consistently without relying on a partner’s schedule, the TERO series offers a different kind of practice companion. It shows up on time, adjusts to your game, and never asks for a water break.
