Google has announced its June 2026 Pixel Feature Drop, introducing a collection of new AI-powered experiences, productivity enhancements, and safety features across the Pixel ecosystem. The update begins rolling out on June 16 and will be available for all currently supported Pixel phones, tablets, and Pixel Watch devices.
AI Takes Center Stage
One of the headline additions is Gemini Omni, a new video creation and editing tool built into the Gemini experience. Users can describe the type of video they want to create, and Gemini will generate a custom video based on that prompt. The feature is available to Gemini Pro subscribers using the Gemini app.
Music fans get something new, too. Lyria 3 allows Pixel users to generate original music tracks using text prompts or images as inspiration. Users can customize styles, vocals, and tempo before sharing the finished results. It’s a feature that turns a Pixel phone into something resembling a pocket-sized recording studio, minus the tangled cables and questionable garage acoustics.
Google is expanding its conversational photo editing capabilities as well. Pixel owners in Germany, the UK, France, Spain, and Italy can now use natural language commands in Google Photos to make everything from simple touch-ups to more complex edits. The feature is available on Pixel 6 devices and newer models in supported markets.

New Ways to Multitask
The update introduces Bubbles for Android 17-powered Pixel devices, allowing apps such as browsers, calendars, and Gemini to float above the main screen for quicker access. Pixel Fold devices gain an exclusive Bubble Bar, a dedicated interface for organizing and managing recent bubbles.
Screen recordings are getting more expressive, too. Screen Reactions adds built-in selfie video overlays directly into screen recordings, giving users a simple way to create reaction-style content without relying on third-party apps.
More Helpful Calling and Communication Features
Google continues to build on Pixel’s reputation for communication tools. Voice Translate is expanding to the Pixel 10a, allowing callers to hear translated speech in each participant’s own voice for more natural conversations across languages.

Manual Call Screen is expanding in India, bringing Google’s call screening technology to more users on supported Pixel devices.
The company is expanding Magic Cue to additional messaging apps, bringing contextual suggestions into more conversations. Support will roll out over the coming weeks on Pixel 10 series devices in supported regions.
Another communication-focused update comes to Take a Message. Google is expanding availability to more markets and introducing Custom Greetings, allowing users to record personalized outgoing messages while still receiving real-time call transcriptions and AI-generated follow-up suggestions.
Pixel Watch Gets Enhanced Emergency Features
Pixel Watch owners are receiving an important safety upgrade. Google is integrating Emergency Sharing with existing detection features, including Car Crash Detection, Fall Detection, and Loss of Pulse Detection. When a serious event is detected, the watch can contact emergency services and notify designated emergency contacts. Users can customize which contacts receive alerts for specific types of incidents.
A Broader Pixel Ecosystem Update
The June 2026 Feature Drop also expands Quick Share compatibility with AirDrop-enabled devices to additional Pixel models, including the Pixel 8a and Pixel 9a. The move continues Google’s effort to simplify file sharing across different platforms and ecosystems.
Taken together, this Feature Drop focuses heavily on AI creation tools, communication features, and practical quality-of-life improvements. From generating videos and music to managing calls and multitasking more efficiently, Google is giving Pixel owners a few more tricks to keep in their digital toolbox.
