Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Note II for all five major US carriers: AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon, and U.S. Cellular, with launches by mid-November. Exact pricing and per-carrier launch dates were to be announced separately; based on leaks at the time, AT&T was expected around October 21st.
The Galaxy Note II marked the US debut of Samsung’s Exynos 1.6GHz quad-core processor (optimized for LTE), 2GB RAM, a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED display in a 16:9 ratio, a 3,100mAh battery, 16/32/64GB storage with microSD, an 8-megapixel camera, and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Despite the larger battery and screen, the device was slightly lighter than the original Note thanks to a narrower bezel on all four sides. Available in Marble White and Titanium Grey.
The redesigned S Pen offered 1,024 levels of pressure sensitivity (four times the original) and launched a new home screen of S Pen apps when removed. New S Pen features included Easy Clip (freeform crop of any on-screen content), Quick Command (gesture shortcuts for calls, emails, and maps), Photo Notes (handwritten notes on the back of photos), Air View (S Pen hover preview without opening), and Idea Sketch (keyword-to-illustration matching). Multitasking additions included Popup Note, Popup Video (floating resizable video window), and Popup Browser.
