Epson has announced three new desktop scanners aimed at small businesses, home offices, and professionals looking to streamline document-heavy workflows. The new lineup includes the WorkForce ES-590W, WorkForce ES-550W, and RapidReceipt RR-620W, all designed with AI-ready scanning capabilities and faster performance in mind.
The timing makes sense. AI tools are quickly becoming part of daily office life, but paper documents still have a habit of piling up like unopened mail in a sitcom apartment. Epson’s latest scanners aim to bridge that gap by turning physical paperwork into searchable, organized digital files that can plug into modern AI and financial software workflows.
Built for Faster, Smarter Document Handling
The WorkForce ES-590W and ES-550W are wireless desktop document scanners focused on business and office use. Both models feature Epson ScanSmart AI technology, which converts scanned documents into searchable digital files optimized for use with AI applications and document management systems.
Epson says both scanners include a 100-sheet Auto Document Feeder and support single-pass duplex scanning, allowing users to scan both sides of a document at once. Scan speeds reach up to 45 pages per minute, which should help cut through stacks of invoices, contracts, or onboarding paperwork without turning scanning into an afternoon commitment.

The company has packed in several intelligent document handling features as well, including staple protection, skew correction, blank page removal, and automatic cropping. Those sound like small touches until someone accidentally feeds a stapled packet into the machine and hears the mechanical equivalent of a scream.
The ES-590W Adds PC-Free Scanning
The higher-end WorkForce ES-590W includes Epson’s ScanWay technology and a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, allowing users to scan directly to email, cloud storage services, or USB flash drives without requiring a connected PC.
That makes it a better fit for shared office environments or businesses trying to reduce friction in everyday workflows. A scanner that works independently instead of demanding a designated “scanner laptop” parked nearby feels oddly luxurious in 2026.
RapidReceipt RR-620W Focuses on Financial Workflows

The RapidReceipt RR-620W takes many of the same hardware features found in the WorkForce models and gears them toward bookkeeping and expense management.
Powered by Epson ScanSmart AI PRO technology, the RR-620W is built to scan receipts, invoices, and financial records while extracting and categorizing data for use in applications like QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Excel.
Epson says the scanner can create searchable and editable PDFs using included licensed software, which could appeal to small business owners buried under tax prep documents, reimbursement forms, and the occasional mystery receipt from a gas station hot dog purchase that nobody remembers making.
Like the ES-590W, the RR-620W includes ScanWay functionality and a 4.3-inch touchscreen for PC-free scanning directly to cloud platforms, email accounts, and USB storage devices.
Additional Features Across the Lineup
All three scanners support ARM-based Windows systems, positioning them for newer AI-focused PCs entering the market. Epson has included built-in Wi-Fi connectivity, support for the Epson Smart Panel mobile app on Android and iOS, and high-resolution HyperClear image processing technology for cleaner scans.
The company says the scanners can export files into formats including PDF, Word, and Excel, helping businesses move paperwork into editable digital workflows more quickly.
Pricing and Availability
The Epson WorkForce ES-590W is priced at $449.99 MSRP, the WorkForce ES-550W at $399.99 MSRP, and the RapidReceipt RR-620W at $529.99 MSRP. All three models are available now through major retailers and Epson’s online store.
