ELO is giving IFA 2026 attendees a first hands-on look at the finished version of its Sentinel XR Gaming Glasses, a $599 wearable display built for mobile gaming and entertainment.
After two years of development, Sentinel is heading toward customer shipments in October. At IFA, visitors can try the glasses through live demonstrations and see how ELO plans to turn a phone or handheld gaming device into something that feels closer to playing on a large private screen.
The idea is simple enough: instead of staring down at a relatively small display, Sentinel places two OLED screens directly in front of the wearer’s eyes.
A 120Hz OLED Screen You Can Wear
Sentinel uses dual Sony OLED displays, with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution delivered to each eye.
ELO pairs that with a 120Hz refresh rate and claimed 1ms response time, two specifications that should matter more to gamers than a long list of smart-glasses extras. Faster refresh rates can make movement appear smoother, particularly in action games, racing titles, and other fast-moving content.
The glasses provide a 52-degree field of view, helping create the impression of playing on a much larger screen. Electrochromic lenses can block up to 99.7% of outside light, according to ELO, cutting down on distractions when users want to focus on the display.

Movies are part of the pitch, too, so Sentinel could double as a private screen during a flight or hotel stay when pulling out a monitor is, understandably, frowned upon.
Built With Travel in Mind
Sentinel weighs 80 grams, making it considerably more compact than a traditional VR headset.
Users can adjust interpupillary distance through software, while built-in myopia adjustment covers a range from 0 to -5.0D. Those options give users some control over how the image lines up with their vision without relying entirely on a one-size-fits-all fit.

ELO says Sentinel is designed to work with mobile devices, though its IFA announcement does not provide a full compatibility list or detailed connection requirements.
That remains an important detail for prospective buyers, particularly anyone hoping to pair the glasses with a specific Android phone, handheld console, or other portable gaming device.
IFA Offers the First Full Hands-On Look
ELO is running Sentinel demonstrations throughout IFA 2026 in Berlin, giving attendees a chance to test the final hardware before shipments begin.
The company is positioning Sentinel as part of a broader portable gaming system. Its upcoming Vagabond Pro mobile gaming controller, planned for 2027, is intended to pair physical controls with the wearable display and games running on devices players already own. For now, Sentinel is the part buyers can actually put on the calendar.
The ELO Sentinel XR Gaming Glasses will cost $599 in the U.S. and €499 in Europe, with shipments scheduled to begin in October 2026.
