DJI is branching further across your living room and extreme outdoor adventures with a dual announcement today, revealing the ROMO 2 smart cleaning series alongside the flagship Osmo 360 II camera. Best known for ruling the skies with consumer drones and dominating camera stabilization, the brand is porting its flight-grade sensor technology directly onto hard floors and wrapping its imaging heritage into an ultra-rugged panoramic action camera.
DJI ROMO 2: Drone-Grade Navigation for Home Floors
Taking spatial awareness cues from DJI’s flagship aircraft, the new ROMO 2 series, comprising the ROMO P2 and ROMO A2 models, serves as an AI-powered, all-scenario robot vacuum and mop. The standout hardware element is a LiDAR-guided, radar-adaptive robotic arm featuring a 123° ultra-wide swing. It reaches 7.8 cm wider and 4.5 cm deeper under floating furniture than its predecessor, gliding close to baseboards and table legs without physical impact.
DJI equipped the system with end-to-end AI intelligence that separates solid debris from wet spills. It deploys its extended-reach arm to contain liquids without smearing them and lowers a dedicated pressure plate on carpets to direct 36,000 Pa of suction power into embedded dust. Its millimeter-level obstacle perception detects hazards as thin as 2 mm, like cables or puppy pads, while steering around mirrors and glass. Thanks to articulating robotic legs, the device clears single steps up to 4 cm and double-step thresholds up to 8.5 cm.
The companion base station handles dirt via four high-pressure water jets and a nanocrystalline washboard, enabling up to 365 days of maintenance-free operation. The ROMO 2 supports 55W fast charging to top up in 2.5 hours, runs as quietly as 38 dBA while mopping, and offers an upcoming Local Data Mode in Q4 2026 to sever cloud syncing for privacy-conscious users.
DJI Osmo 360 II: 8K Panoramic Action with Replaceable Glass
For creators heading outdoors, the Osmo 360 II introduces the industry’s first 1-inch square HDR sensor, built specifically to capture 360° video at up to 8K/60fps without the energy penalties of traditional rectangular chips. The sensor boasts 14.5 stops of dynamic range and leverages AI SuperNight 2.0 processing to keep low-light clips clean.
At just 183 grams, the camera features an ultra-hard replaceable lens system designed to withstand trail rash, complete with 105 GB of internal storage. It is waterproof down to 10 meters unassisted (and down to 50 meters with its dedicated case), operates in temperatures as low as -20° C (-4° F), and captures 120MP HDR panoramic stills along with 16K timelapses.
Workflow tools include Spotlight Follow for hands-free subject framing, 10-bit D-Log M color profiles, and one-tap NFC syncing to the DJI Mimo mobile app. The onboard battery delivers up to 100 minutes of continuous 8K/30fps recording and reaches an 80% charge in 22 minutes.

DJI has not yet announced official retail pricing or specific global launch windows for either device line. However, the Osmo 360 II is making its physical debut at IFA 2026 in Berlin from September 4 to 8.
