AWOL Vision has introduced its latest flagship home theater projector, the LuxVision, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. Designed as an ultra-short-throw (UST) model—a projector built to sit just inches from the wall while casting massive images—the LuxVision stands as the industry’s first 4K 120Hz UST projector equipped with optical lens shift.
The announcement follows the company’s June 2026 global brand refresh under the banner “Bring Wonder Home,” uniting its long-throw Valerion Series alongside the Aetherion and LuxVision lines.
Big-Screen Scale and High-Output Brightness
At the core of the AWOL LuxVision is an RGB triple-laser light engine capable of producing 6,000 ISO lumens. That level of brightness is geared toward keeping visuals punchy during daylight hours without requiring a pitch-black dedicated cinema room. Paired with an ultra-short 0.18:1 throw ratio, the unit can project images up to 200 inches across.
Color and contrast capabilities include 110% coverage of the wide Rec. 2020 color space, Dynamic Tone Mapping, and a 7-level dynamic iris. On the formatting side, the projector supports Dolby Vision, IMAX Enhanced, Filmmaker Mode, and active 3D playback. AWOL Vision also integrated its second-generation Anti-RBE technology alongside TÜV Harmful Light Reduction, which helps curb rainbow effect artifacts and reduce eye fatigue during high-contrast scenes.
Smooth 120Hz Gaming and Modern Connectivity
For fast-paced entertainment, the LuxVision processes 4K video at 120 frames per second. Gamers get a dedicated set of specs, including a reported 1ms input lag, Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Dolby Vision Gaming.
Connectivity covers significant ground with three HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort connection, and a 4-channel HDMI Multiview feature designed for viewing feeds from multiple source devices at the same time—handy for keeping an eye on a sports broadcast while playing a game.
Flexible Setup Meets Parthenon-Inspired Styling
Setting up a UST projector can often feel like a game of precision millimeter-nudging, but AWOL Vision addresses this by introducing one-touch vertical optical lens shift. This allows owners to adjust image height cleanly without relying on digital distortion or compromising native 4K resolution. The projector also features a motorized lens cover and a zero-light-leakage lens assembly.
Aesthetically, the chassis draws inspiration from the columns of the Parthenon, bringing an architectural, modern design into living spaces rather than looking like an industrial black box. Buyers will also have access to customizable color, material, and finish (CMF) options to better match interior decor.
Pricing and Launch Timing
The AWOL LuxVision will carry an MSRP of $5,999 (€5,999 / £4,999), with an official launch scheduled around October.
