Home security cameras have come a long way from the days of grainy porch footage and mystery blobs wandering across the driveway at 2:00 AM. The latest crop of Reolink cameras feels built for a more practical kind of setup: flexible placement, local storage, smarter alerts, and fewer reasons to mess with wiring unless you really want to.
Reolink recently introduced a few new models that caught our attention, and three of them have made their way here to the office for review and promotional consideration: the Reolink Video Doorbell Battery, 2nd Gen, the Reolink Argus MagiCam, and the Reolink OMVI 3i WiFi.
We’ve only spent a few days with each, so this is not a full review just yet. Think of it more as an early look at what Reolink is bringing to the table, especially while these models appear to be discounted. The tiny security-camera goblin in the corner of our brain says that is probably worth flagging.
Reolink Video Doorbell Battery, 2nd Gen

The Reolink Video Doorbell Battery, 2nd Gen is the sort of front-door upgrade that makes sense for renters, older homes, or anyone who doesn’t want to turn a doorbell install into a weekend electrical side quest.
This model offers a 2K 4MP head-to-toe view, using a square 1:1 aspect ratio designed to show more of what’s happening at the doorstep, including packages near the mat. Reolink lists a 150-degree horizontal and vertical field of view, plus a 180-degree diagonal view, which should help capture visitors, deliveries, and the usual porch parade without relying on a narrow crop. It also supports person, vehicle, and package detection.
Level Up is where we explore the gear that actually makes a difference, whether that’s in how you live, work, or unwind. Each edition brings together standout products, whether tied by brand or by theme, that turn the everyday into something a little more exceptional.
Power is flexible, too. It can run from its built-in 7,000mAh rechargeable battery, or be hardwired to existing doorbell wiring for more continuous operation. Reolink says the battery can last up to five months, though real-world life will depend on traffic, settings, temperature, recording frequency, and how often your neighborhood squirrel union holds meetings on the porch.
Another key draw is Reolink’s local-storage approach. The doorbell supports microSD cards up to 256GB, and it can also work with Reolink’s Home Hub. That makes it appealing for people who like smart alerts and remote access but don’t want every useful feature trapped behind a subscription wall.
Reolink Argus MagiCam

The Argus MagiCam is the most flexible of the three. This is a small 2MP wireless camera designed for indoor or outdoor use, with a magnetic mounting system that makes it easy to reposition as needed.
That last part is important. Not every security camera needs to be a permanent fixture. Sometimes you want something by the garage for a week, near the back gate while work is being done, or watching a side entrance while you’re away. The Argus MagiCam feels tailored for those temporary-but-still-important jobs.
Reolink says the camera can run for up to nine months using AA lithium batteries, thanks in part to a Qualcomm Micro-Power Wi-Fi solution. It also supports dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi, two-way audio, person detection, and local storage via microSD card up to 256GB.
The magnetic mounting pad is the clever bit. It makes the MagiCam feel less like something you install once and more like a camera you can deploy where needed. That could be useful for patios, sheds, railings, garages, RVs, or even inside the house when you want a quick check-in point.
Reolink OMVI 3i WiFi

The OMVI 3i WiFi is the heavy hitter of this trio, both literally and functionally. This is a more advanced outdoor camera built around a triple-lens system, combining a 10MP upper camera with an 8MP lower camera for wider awareness and closer tracking. Reolink positions it as a 360-degree-style security camera with pan-and-tilt coverage, Wi-Fi 6 support, smart detection, auto framing, and local AI video search.
Where the doorbell watches the entryway and the MagiCam handles flexible placement, the OMVI 3i WiFi is aimed at broader property monitoring. It supports 350-degree pan and 50-degree tilt, along with preset positions and patrol options. It also includes infrared night vision up to 100 feet, color night vision with spotlights, two-way audio, and support for microSD cards up to 512GB.
This is the one we’ll be watching most closely over a longer test period. Multi-lens cameras can be incredibly useful when they reduce blind spots, but they also need to be easy to manage. The spec sheet looks strong. The real test will be how well the camera tracks movement, handles alerts, and presents footage in day-to-day use without making the app feel like a cockpit.
Early Takeaway
What stands out about these three Reolink models is that they cover different parts of the home without feeling redundant.
The Video Doorbell Battery is the practical front-door pick. The Argus MagiCam is the flexible, move-it-anywhere option. The OMVI 3i WiFi is the more serious outdoor camera for wider coverage and smarter tracking.
We’re still in the early stages of testing, but the first few days have been promising enough that we think they’re worth putting on readers’ radar, especially with the current sale pricing. Anyone looking to expand a home security setup, replace an aging doorbell camera, or add better coverage around the yard may want to give Reolink’s latest lineup a look.
Full reviews may follow after we’ve had more time with setup, battery life, app performance, alert accuracy, and real-world recording quality. For now, these feel like useful additions to Reolink’s growing camera lineup, with enough variety to cover the porch, the patio, and the “what just moved behind the garage?” zone.
