Being a solo traveler, I’ve often felt overwhelmed while charging my gear (smartphone, earbuds, headphones, smartwatch, and gimbals) separately with a single charger, which is not only very annoying but also quite cumbersome. However, Ugreen’s new Uno 100W 4-port GaN (gallium nitride) charger has changed the game for me.

I recently took the Uno 100W charger on my recent Andaman trip, and it completely changed the charging game for me. Ugreen’s new Uno 100W 4-port GaN charger allows me to charge up to four devices simultaneously with a maximum output of 100W. Unlike other chargers, the Uno has a small display on the front, showcasing several emoji faces, which makes it slightly different from the competitors.

Despite its cool appearance and charging versatility, the Uno has some imperfections. Read on to find out whether it is worthy of being a charming charging companion for your next trip.

Pros

  • 100W maximum output
  • Four ports, including USB-C and USB-A
  • Fun display that showcases different digital faces
  • Unique design

Cons

  • Display could be brighter
  • No cables included

Unboxing

Pricing and Availability

The Ugreen Uno is priced at $59.99 and is now available via Ugreen and Amazon in the US. If you don’t want a 100W power brick, Ugreen also offers smaller and cheaper 35W and 65W variants.

Unique Design and Fun Display with its charming expressions

The Ugreen Uno 100W inherits the same Uno series design, but the notable change with the new Uno is that it gets more powerful and has more ports compared to the previous Uno chargers. Unlike other chargers, the Ugreen Uno 100W GaN charger has a small display on the front that showcases several different digital faces while charging the devices.

During my testing, the charger’s emotive TFT display works really well. It shows five different status emojis, including three for charging, one for standby, and one for “fully charged.” No doubt, the charger looks super cute when expressing itself through emotive display. For example, the Uno charger displays a ‘cool’ emoji when a device is fully charged; that looks cute though. I appreciated Ugreen for adding this smart emoji feature.

Other design elements of the charger are actually good. The charger is quite compact, measuring 2.05 x 1.93 x 3.23 inches (HWT), and it easily fits in every backpack without taking up so much space. The placement of USB ports is very practical, which is on top of the charger. There’s also a headband on top of the ports with circular earcups on the sides, which mimics the look of headphones. Ugreen doesn’t offer foldable prongs; instead, the brand provides a pair of plastic shoes—or plug cover—where you can insert prongs into them.

To wrap up the design elements, the charger is rated for overcurrent, overload, overtemperature, and short circuit protections, which is great and gives consumers peace of mind while charging four devices at once.

GaN Tech and Portability

The Ugreen Uno 100W charger uses GaN Inifinity technology, which allows a power brick to run more efficiently while minimizing heat generation. The Uno offers a total of four ports—three USB-C and one USB-A—that deliver up to 100W of power at a time. Speaking about power distribution, the first two USB-C ports deliver 100W output each when used independently. However, if you’re using all of the ports at once, the power output changes to 45W, 30W, 7.5W, and 7.5W, respectively.

So, to test its charging performance, I charged my gear, including the iQoo 12 smartphone, remarkable 2 tablet, Denon PerL, and Xiaomi Band 9, at once. Surprisingly, the Uno efficiently fully charged all my devices in the expected timeframe of around one hour and 45 minutes. While charging, I did notice the power brick slightly gets warm, but that’s completely normal.

Weighing in at 265 grams, the Uno 100W GaN charger is slightly heavy compared to the other mainstream chargers, and you’ll feel it when holding it in hand. However, it’s compact, and one can easily carry it anywhere without any weight issues whatsoever.

What I didn’t like about the Ugreen Uno 100W GaN charger

First, Ugreen doesn’t offer any charging cables with the Uno 100W GaN charger, meaning you’ll need to purchase these cables separately. Second, the charger’s annoying plug cover; when the charger is in use, there’s no place to attach it to the charger, and you have no other option than to carry it with you every time.

Another thing is the Uno’s hefty weight, which will surely create problems if you have old and loose outlets at home. While I didn’t notice the fallout or loose issue during my testing period. It’s worth mentioning that the display of the charger isn’t super bright, and it might be hard to see the robot’s charming expressions from certain angles.

The major quibble is that it doesn’t have interchangeable prongs, which is very disappointing. And unfortunately, you can’t use it anywhere on the planet. This also means you must carry a separate international adapter (EU/AU/UK/US) while traveling.

Should you buy the Ugreen Uno 100W GaN charger?

You should buy it if…

  • You want a 100W output charger
  • You want a charger with at least three USB-C ports and one USB-A port
  •  You want a charger with a TFT smart display

You shouldn’t buy this if…

  • You want a super-fast charger
  • You want only USB-C ports
  • You are looking for a more affordable option

Awarded to products with an average rating of 3.75 stars or higher, the AndroidGuys Smart Pick recognizes a balance of quality, performance, and value.

Products with this distinction deserve to be on your short list of purchase candidates.

Final Thoughts

At $59.99, the Ugreen Uno is a fantastic multi-port super-fast charger that offers stellar performance, versatile charging options with three USB-C ports and one USB-A, a catchy small TFT display with several different charming faces, and budget value.

If you are looking for a wall charger with a maximum of 100W of output and four USB ports and are ready to make some trade-offs, then you can’t go wrong with the Ugreen Uno 100W GaN charger.
