0

Google’s official twitter account for their Nexus series of phones confirmed what we had already heard a few weeks back.  Android 2.3 will hit the Nexus One in the “coming weeks” in the form of an over-the-air update.  We had heard unofficially from members of the Android team, but this is the first from Google directly.  As we’re advised by the tweet, we need to hang tight.  So hang tight.

Verizon Droid Pro Review: Business in the Front/Party in the Back

Finally, I think I have found the phone for me.  No it doesn’t sport dual-core water cooled processors or even a large 1080p display.  But what it does have, it has in spades.  And to prove it, I have moved from the mighty Droid X to the Pro as a daily driver and it has not disappointed.  In many ways the Droid Pro from Verizon is what I wanted when I first saw a phone running what was a very early Android.  The HTC device which never built, pictured left.

It’s really real.  The Nexus S is official today and we couldn’t be more excited.  We’ll be back in a flash with more coverage, but we wanted to drop the press release as soon as possible.  All the stuff we have come to expect is in the phone, including Android 2.3 and the curved glass screen.  Looks like we’ll be getting ourselves a new Android phone in time for Christmas as this goes on sale “after December 16th” at Best Buy (US) and Carphone Warehouse (UK) locations after December 20th.  Full press release found after the jump!

Check back for our reaction after we get a closer look at the new hotness!

Samsung Galaxy Tab: Reviewed

0

After reading about the Samsung Galaxy Tab for what seemed like years (JK, it was only two months) I never thought it would come to the carriers much less to my house.  I have owned the Archos and Augen versions of the mythical Android tablet and for my money, I believe Samsung got it right and all this without a proper tablet OS.

MyTouch 4G… An Inside Look [REVIEW]

0

T-Mobile fans and subscribers, I would wager to say that the majority of us are sporting something from the MyTouch series if we don’t have the Nexus One.  Personally, after the G1, I moved to the MyTouch 3G, then to the MT3G Slide, and now, I have had the opportunity to get my hands on the 4G (Originally to be called the MyTouch HD, remember?)  I wanted to take a moment to give you the good, the bad, and the ugly.  Remember, this is just one phone geek’s opinion, but hey, I’ve used every phone in the MyTouch series, so I think I have some clout.

Samsung and Verizon officially announced the latest in the Galaxy S series of phones yesterday with the new, exclusive Continuum.  The dual-screen device packs much of the same heft as Verizon’s other Galaxy S handset (Fascinate) with its 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5-megapixel camera, and 8GB microSD card.  The top screen measures 3.4-inches while the bottom ‘ticker’ display comes in at 1.8-inches for displaying notifications, rss feeds, weather, and more.

As widely expected, the Continuum goes up for pre-sale November 11 th with a full availability nationwide on November18th.  To get a sense for how the Continuum works in real world situations, Samsung has put together a two-minute clip.  Additional pictures of the phone are also found after the break.

Rumor: Android 4.0 To Be Named “Ice Cream”?

0

You know, every employee makes a mistake from time to time. Some people lose a new iPhone, others accidentally put some files online to early…

And some people just say to much, like the president of ARM. Tudor Brown, who is familiar with the Android roadmap,  told Forbes that Android 4.0 will be named “Ice Cream”. This all seems to be quite logical if you keep in mind that Google always names their Android successors after a dessert in alphabetical order. After Froyo, you get Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream, and much more… Google stays quiet about its future Android versions most of the time, but every company leaks a few things right?
