WaterField Designs Unveils Shinjuku Tote for Work, Weekend, and Wandering

San Francisco-based WaterField Designs has added a new piece to its Shinjuku Collection with the release of the Shinjuku Tote, a compact, 16-liter carryall crafted for daily life on the move. Designed for commuters, travelers, and errand-runners alike, the Shinjuku Tote blends practical organization with clean, modern aesthetics and a few clever tricks up its canvas sleeve.

Built for Movement, Styled for Anywhere

The Shinjuku Tote is available in lightweight X-Pac Canvas or waxed canvas, each paired with full-grain leather accents that elevate its look without weighing it down. The bag’s slim silhouette and 11.5-inch drop handles are designed to slip through crowded spaces and rest comfortably on the shoulder, aided by a subtle anti-slip rubber underside.

For those juggling everything from laptops to market hauls, the tote’s internal and external storage options provide order without the usual rummaging. Inside, raised pockets keep small items from disappearing into the bottom abyss, while pleated side compartments stand ready for bottles, whether it’s water or wine, no judgment. The main compartment uses a magnetic flap closure that’s both secure and satisfyingly snappy, and the liner flips out for cleaning, which might come in handy after that impromptu grocery run.

Pockets with a Purpose

On the outside, a rear magnetic pocket offers quick access to items like phones and transit cards and closes on its own to keep valuables tucked safely away. The front zippered pocket includes organizational dividers and a key tether, with two additional side pockets designed for umbrellas or receipts, basically, everything that ends up loose in your car otherwise.

Pre-Order Details and Availability

WaterField has priced the Shinjuku Tote at $249, with pre-orders open now and shipping scheduled to begin April 11, 2025. The tote is available in black or olive green X-Pac Canvas and navy or tan waxed canvas, all lined with gold water-resistant ripstop nylon for visibility and a hint of flair.

The Shinjuku Tote is the third release in WaterField’s monthly Shinjuku Collection rollout, which draws inspiration from the fast-paced, style-conscious Shinjuku district in Tokyo. A tech organizer, crossbody, and duffel are expected to round out the lineup in the coming months. More information can be found at WaterField’s official site.
