T-Mobile announced the G2x, a rebranded LG Optimus 2X, as their first dual-core Android smartphone. It was nearly stock Android 2.2, with a handful of preloaded apps: Tegra Zone, Need for Speed Shift HD, Qik, T-Mobile TV, and DTS Ultra Mobile sound enhancement. It was expected to be available around April 20.
The G2x was powered by an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core processor running at 1GHz per core, paired with T-Mobile’s HSPA+ 4G network. Key specs included:
- 4-inch capacitive touchscreen display
- 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and autofocus
- 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera
- 1080p HD video recording with DLNA and HDMI mirroring support
- 8GB internal memory, microSD slot expandable to 32GB
