Summer Cleanup Starts Before the Guests Arrive, and STIHL Makes it a Whole Lot Easier

Summer Cleanup Starts Before the Guests Arrive, and STIHL Makes it a Whole Lot Easier

Summer has a way of turning the backyard into the center of everything. One weekend it’s burgers on the grill, the next it’s kids chasing fireflies, and before you know it the Fourth of July is circled on the calendar. A little cleanup goes a long way toward making your outdoor space feel welcoming, and we’ve been leaning on a pair of cordless tools provided by STIHL to help keep things looking sharp without turning yard work into an all-day project.

Over the last several weeks, we’ve spent plenty of time tackling overgrown brush, trimming back trees and shrubs along our property line, and cleaning up the mess that inevitably follows. The standout feature isn’t just the performance. It’s the freedom that comes from leaving extension cords and gas cans behind.

The STIHL GTA 30 Battery Garden Pruner ($329) has quickly become one of those tools that’s easy to reach for because it’s so convenient. Think of it as a compact mini chainsaw designed for pruning branches, trimming shrubs, and cutting through woody brush that would make hand loppers a workout. It’s light enough to maneuver comfortably, yet powerful enough to make quick work of seasonal maintenance around the yard.

We’ve found ourselves grabbing it for everything from cleaning up low-hanging branches to taming bushes that have started spilling into walkways. It turns jobs that might normally be put off until “next weekend” into something that takes just a few minutes.

The GTA 30 is powered by STIHL’s compact AS System, using the lightweight AS 2 battery. That helps keep the tool balanced and easy to control, and it’s part of a growing family of homeowner-focused cordless products. If you already own another STIHL AS System tool, there’s a good chance you already have compatible batteries ready to go.

Of course, every pruning session leaves behind a trail of leaves, twigs, and sawdust. That’s where the STIHL BRA 200 Battery Backpack Blower ($729) comes in.

The BRA 200 runs on STIHL’s professional-grade AP System, which powers everything from chainsaws and string trimmers to mowers and other outdoor equipment. If you’re already invested in that ecosystem, you can purchase the blower as a tool-only model ($479) and use the AP batteries you already own, making it an easy addition without paying for another battery and charger.

The backpack configuration also helps distribute the weight well, making longer cleanup sessions noticeably easier than carrying a handheld blower the entire time.

One thing we’ve especially appreciated is how well these two tools complement each other. Trim overgrown branches with the GTA 30, then spend a few minutes with the BRA 200 and it looks like the work never happened. Whether we’re clearing grass clippings after mowing, blowing pollen off the patio, or sweeping debris out of the garage after an annual cleanout, the blower makes quick work of the finishing touches.

Whether you’re getting the yard ready for a Fourth of July cookout, sprucing things up for the rest of summer, or simply trying to stay ahead of Mother Nature’s endless to-do list, these cordless STIHL tools make the work faster, quieter, and far more convenient than traditional gas-powered equipment.

They’ve earned a permanent spot in our garage, ready whenever the yard needs attention. After all, summer is better spent enjoying the backyard than searching for an extension cord or making another trip to the gas can.
