Spectrum has announced the official launch of Spectrum Mobile Second Line, a new service designed to eliminate the need for carrying multiple devices. The monthly plan allows customers to add a secondary phone number to a single smartphone, streamlining the management of professional and personal communications.
Streamlining Work-Life Balance on a Single Device
The Second Line service utilizes Dual SIM Dual Standby (DSDS) technology, including dual eSIM capabilities. This integration allows users to toggle between two distinct numbers for calls and texts directly from their device’s native interface, removing the friction of switching between third-party apps or carrying a second handset.
The service is priced at $10 per month and shares the data allowance of the primary line. It is positioned as a cost-effective solution for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and individuals seeking a dedicated line for privacy or business purposes.
Key Features and Availability
The Second Line plan includes a comprehensive suite of features to ensure a seamless transition for users:
- Integrated Communication: Choose which number to use for every outgoing call or text message.
- Comprehensive Coverage: Includes unlimited talk and text within the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.
- Advanced Tools: Support for visual voicemail, Call Guard, and the ability to port-in existing numbers.
- Self-Service Management: Customers can activate the service via Spectrum.net, the My Spectrum App, or through phone support.
CEO Take: Innovation Through Integration
“Our customers want practical ways to keep their work and personal life organized on one device,” said David Owens, Senior Vice President of Mobile Products, Charter Communications (Spectrum Mobile). “It’s a simple, integrated way to manage different numbers, whether for business or personal, without extra devices or toggling between apps.”
Spectrum Mobile continues to offer a flexible range of data plans, including By the Gig, Unlimited, and Unlimited Plus, all of which feature nationwide 5G access. With the majority of device sales since 2021 supporting dual eSIM technology, the company remains focused on delivering hardware and software solutions that provide maximum flexibility to its residential and business subscribers.
