Segway has announced the E3 Go electric scooter, its most affordable third-generation model, with a limited-time introductory price of $549.99. Normally priced at $649.99, the new scooter targets first-time riders and everyday commuters who want practical transportation without spending a fortune.
The E3 Go combines an 800-watt motor, a maximum speed of 20 mph, and a claimed range of up to 25 miles per charge. Segway has included several features typically associated with more expensive models, including traction control, front suspension, integrated turn signals, and Apple Find My compatibility.
For someone considering an electric scooter for neighborhood trips, commuting, or getting around campus, the E3 Go offers a relatively approachable starting point.
Enough Power for Everyday Riding

The Segway E3 Go features an 800-watt maximum motor output and can handle slopes of up to 18%. Its 276Wh battery supports a claimed maximum range of 25 miles, aided by Segway’s proprietary SegRange optimization technology.
That maximum range comes with an important qualification. Segway rates the scooter for approximately 11 miles when traveling at its maximum 20 mph speed. Riders regularly pushing the throttle will need to account for that difference, particularly when planning round-trip commutes.
Charging takes approximately 5.5 hours, making overnight charging a practical option for regular use.
The scooter’s 10-inch tubeless tires and front suspension fork are designed to absorb some of the bumps encountered on city streets, sidewalks, and paved paths. A front drum brake and rear electronic brake handle stopping duties.
Safety Features Without the Premium Price

Segway has brought several of its established riding technologies to the E3 Go, including SegRide stability enhancement and a traction control system (TCS).
These systems are intended to help riders maintain control and stability, particularly when navigating imperfect pavement or changing riding conditions. Their inclusion is particularly relevant for beginners who may still be getting comfortable with balancing, accelerating, and braking.
Visibility receives attention, too. The scooter includes a 2-watt front headlight, handlebar-mounted turn signals, and a rear brake light.
The E3 Go carries an IPX5 water-resistance rating, providing protection against water jets and making it better suited to occasional wet conditions. That doesn’t make it a scooter for riding through deep puddles or heavy storms.
A 2.8-inch LED display provides riding information, and Apple Find My compatibility allows owners to locate the scooter through Apple’s device-finding network. Android users should be aware that Segway specifically lists Apple Find My support, with no equivalent Android tracking integration confirmed in the announcement.
Foldable Design With a Few Practical Considerations

The E3 Go features a folding frame intended to make storage and transportation easier. Its minimalist design follows Segway’s current styling, including the brand’s familiar red accents.
At 46.7 pounds, however, this isn’t something most riders will want to carry up several flights of stairs every day. The folding mechanism should help with fitting the scooter into a vehicle or storing it in an apartment, but its weight is worth considering.
The E3 Go supports riders weighing up to 220 pounds and includes Segway’s BMS 2.0 battery management system.
Pricing and Availability
The Segway E3 Go is priced at $549.99 for a limited time, representing a $100 discount from its regular $649.99 MSRP.
According to Segway’s announcement, the scooter will be available through its official online store, Best Buy, and Amazon. The company hasn’t specified when the introductory promotion will end.
