Nextbase Delivers Major Updates to iQ Smart Dash Cam

Nextbase, a global leader in dash cam and vehicle protection technology, has announced its first major over-the-air (OTA) update for the AI-powered iQ dash cam. This follows the record-breaking global launch of the product late last year.

The update introduces Guardian Mode, a highly anticipated feature that provides advanced location, geofence, and speed monitoring capabilities. This mode is particularly useful for monitoring new drivers, valet situations, or when the vehicle is loaned out. Other enhancements include improvements to the iQ Rear Cam functionality, SmartSense Parking, and day and night Cabin View image quality.

The update also enhances SmartSense Parking, enabling users to toggle on or off remote alerts triggered by Nextbase’s radar-based Spatial-awareness technology. These notifications alert the user to threats within a certain radius of the vehicle, allowing them to monitor and take proactive measures.

Upgrades to the built-in Picovoice voice recognition software enable hands-free command and control in multiple languages, further improving driver safety. Witness Mode can now be activated by voice, saving video footage to the cloud and notifying an emergency contact in real-time.

To celebrate the Summer Drive Season, Nextbase is offering promotions on the iQ:

  • 5/20-6/2: $100 off iQ 1K, $50 off Rear cam
  • 6/3-6/16: $100 off iQ 2K, $50 off Rear cam
  • 6/17-6/30: $150 off iQ 1K, $150 off 2K, & $50 off Rear cam

Nextbase iQ and Rear Cam are available nationwide through Best Buy, Amazon.com, and various retailers. Nextbase.com is part of Best Buy’s Partner+ program, allowing for same-day in-store pickup.
