Never Lose a Fridge Full of Groceries Again: BLUETTI’s Ultra-Slim FridgePower Hits Kickstarter

We’ve all been there. A summer storm rolls in, the transformer down the street blows, and suddenly you’re staring at a dark kitchen, wondering how long that expensive steak and the kids’ milk will last before they spoil.

While portable power stations have become a “must-have” for camping and emergency kits, they are often bulky for a cramped kitchen or apartment. BLUETTI is changing that narrative with the launch of the FridgePower—the ultra-slim battery backup system purpose-built for your refrigerator. Now live on Kickstarter, it might be one of the most practical home energy solutions we’ve seen in a while.

A Backup Power Solution That Actually Fits Your Space

The first thing you’ll notice about the FridgePower isn’t how it looks—it’s how it doesn’t. At just 2.95 inches (75mm) thick, it’s about as wide as a smartphone. That means it can slide into places most backup systems can’t—like the narrow gap beside your fridge, tucked behind furniture, or even mounted on a wall.

The minimalist design also blends easily into kitchens and apartments without turning your living space into something that looks like a backup power station setup.

And best of all, it’s plug-and-play. It’s a DIY dream: no professional electricians or expensive sub-panels required. Just set it up in minutes and you’re good to go.

Built for One Job — And It Does It Well

FridgePower isn’t trying to power your entire home. Instead, it focuses on doing one thing extremely well: keeping your refrigerator running during outages.

The base unit offers 2,016Wh capacity and 1,800W output, enough to keep a standard fridge running for close to a full day. With a breakthrough 4W AC idle drain, the FridgePower optimizes the 2kWh power range to extend refrigerator runtimes by an additional 4.5 hours.

For longer outages, you can stack up to three BlueCell 200 expansion batteries to reach 8,064Wh, stretching runtime to as long as four days.

It also delivers a 3,600W surge, which is important for handling the startup power spikes that refrigerators and compressors typically require.

Smarter Backup with UPS and App Control

Where things get especially interesting is how FridgePower handles outages.

With a 10ms UPS switchover, it automatically kicks in the moment power is lost — no manual action needed. Your fridge keeps running as if nothing happened.

It also includes a dual protection system, allowing your appliances to fall back to grid power when available, adding an extra layer of reliability.

Through the BLUETTI app, you can monitor and control everything remotely. Features include:

  • Real-time power usage and battery status
  • Remote on/off and scheduling
  • System alerts and diagnostics
  • Extreme weather alerts that trigger pre-charging before storms

It even supports Alexa, Google Home, and Home Assistant, so it can slot right into a smart home setup. Plus, there’s an optional Display 1 Magnetic Screen that you can slap right on your fridge door to monitor your power levels at a glance.

Quiet, Efficient, and Designed for Everyday Living

FridgePower isn’t just about performance — it’s also built for daily use.

It runs at as low as 30dB, which is about as quiet as a library, making it easy to live with in kitchens or small apartments. Inside, a smart thermal system automatically adjusts cooling to keep things running efficiently without excess noise.

On the battery side, it uses LiFePOâ‚„ cells rated for 4,000+ cycles, translating to up to 10 years of lifespan with regular use.

Why This Matters More Than You Think

If you’ve ever lost power for a few hours, you know how quickly things can go wrong — especially in the summer.

FridgePower feels like a shift toward more targeted, practical backup solutions. Instead of overinvesting in whole-home systems, it focuses on protecting one of the most critical appliances in your home — the one that stores your food, medicine, and daily essentials.

And it does so in a way that’s simple, space-efficient, and surprisingly smart.

Pricing and Availability

FridgePower is now live on Kickstarter through May 31, with limited early-bird pricing tiers available.

  • Standalone Unit: Starting at $759 (42% off MSRP).
  • FridgePower Plus Bundle: Starting at $1,398 (44% off MSRP).

Since pricing is tier-based and limited in quantity, it may increase as allocations sell out. If you’re interested, it’s worth checking the live campaign page for the most up-to-date pricing. For U.S. backers, the price already includes tax and shipping

The best part? These units are already in mass production. Shipments are expected to begin in early June, just in time for hurricane season and summer heatwaves.
