MyFitnessPal has rolled out a fresh way to make food tracking feel less like a chore. The new Voice Log feature gives Premium members the ability to log meals and snacks using simple voice commands, saving users from the tap-tap-scroll routine that’s all too familiar.
Tim Holley, MyFitnessPal’s Chief Product Officer, put it plainly: “We want to make nutrition tracking easier for our members.” With Voice Log, users can rattle off their meals like they’re talking to a friend. The app listens, suggests the closest matches, and lets users make edits before locking it in. “The goal is to make logging feel second nature so people can focus on their goals,” Holley added.
How It Works
Voice Log keeps it simple. Users tap the feature in the app’s navigation bar. The first time they use it, they’ll need to grant microphone access. After that, it’s as easy as saying, “a fist-sized portion of chicken and a handful of blueberries.” The app takes it from there, offering the closest food matches. Users can make edits before tapping “Log” to finish up.
Why It Matters
Tracking meals can be a pain, and time is usually the culprit. Voice Log takes the hassle out of the process. It’s a handy option for multitaskers, meal preppers, or anyone looking to keep tracking quick and painless. Less friction means it’s easier to stay consistent—and consistency is where the magic happens.
Other Tracking Tools for Premium Members
Voice Log is part of a toolkit for MyFitnessPal Premium members. Other features include:
- Barcode Scan: Log items instantly by scanning package barcodes.
- Meal Scan: Take a photo of a meal to log multiple items at once.
These tools are designed to make food tracking faster and less of a daily grind.
