LG announced the Optimus LTE Tag ahead of MWC, named for its standout feature: LG Tag+, an NFC-based system using programmable stickers that can be placed anywhere to automatically change the phone’s settings. A sticker on the car dashboard could enable Bluetooth, GPS, and volume. One on an office desk could switch to silent mode and activate Wi-Fi. Users could also program the phone to recall the configuration from the last tag it tapped.
Key specs: a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3-inch IPS display (800×480), Android 2.3 Gingerbread (ICS update coming), NFC, 16GB onboard storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 1700mAh battery. Available in white and launching in Korea first, with other markets to follow.
