Hisense Debuts RGB MiniLED flagship UR9 and UR8 Series at CES 2026

At CES 2026, Hisense has solidified its position as a primary architect of display evolution by unveiling its most sophisticated RGB MiniLED television suite to date. Building upon its 2025 milestone as the first manufacturer to commercialize true RGB MiniLED Local Dimming, the company is now accelerating the adoption of this technology through two strategic channels: the introduction of a new flagship evo system and the democratization of RGB MiniLED across its mainstream product tiers.

The 116UXS Comes with Chromatic Precision

The centerpiece of the 2026 showcase is the 116UXS flagship, which debuts the RGB MiniLED evo backlight system. This innovative architecture departs from traditional three-color systems by integrating a four-primary structure that includes cyan.

By targeting the specific area of the spectrum where human ocular sensitivity is highest, the 116UXS achieves superior tonal transitions and lifelike gradients. Key technical specifications of the flagship include:

  • Color Fidelity: Delivery of up to 110% of the BT.2020 color gamut.
  • Processing Power: The Hi-View AI Engine RGB chipset manages tens of thousands of dimming zones to ensure accuracy during high-motion and high-contrast scenes.
  • Industrial Design: A minimalist, 1.57-inch profile with a nearly bezel-free aesthetic.
  • Acoustic Integration: A specialized 6.2.2 audio system developed by Devialet Opéra de Paris.

Scaling Innovation: The UR9 and UR8 Series

Recognizing that premium display performance should not be restricted to flagship models, Hisense is expanding its RGB MiniLED architecture into the UR9 and UR8 Series. This move represents a significant scaling of second-generation technology, making high-performance color accuracy accessible across a diverse range of screen sizes, from 55 to 100 inches.

Unlike standard premium displays, the UR9 and UR8 series are engineered to maintain color integrity in varied environments, ensuring that saturation remains stable even in high-ambient-light settings. This expansion signals Hisense’s intent to lead the market by standardizing technologies that competitors are still struggling to implement at scale.

Leadership Through Accelerated Development

The rapid iteration from the 2025 prototype to the 2026 expanded lineup highlights Hisense’s aggressive R&D cycle. Ondre Clarke, Head of TV Product Marketing at Hisense USA, emphasized that the brand’s hallmark is the ability to bring advanced technologies to market faster and more efficiently than industry peers.

By integrating Devialet-tuned audio and refined industrial designs into these accessible tiers, Hisense is bridging the gap between enthusiast-grade specifications and consumer-friendly accessibility.
