GUNNAR Optiks is giving two of its established computer eyewear designs a seasonal refresh with new limited-edition colors arriving this fall. The company is introducing the Riot in Crystal Cobalt and the Berkeley in Cranberry Crystal Fade, adding some extra personality to eyewear designed for long hours in front of screens.
Both new colorways are scheduled to become available September 4, 2026, and GUNNAR describes them as seasonal, time-limited releases.
The frames retain the lens technology found across GUNNAR’s computer eyewear lineup, including protection from blue light and 100% UV, along with anti-reflective coatings intended to cut down on glare. Amber and Clear lens options are available, giving buyers a choice between GUNNAR’s more recognizable tinted look and something closer to traditional eyewear.
Riot Gets A Cool-Toned Crystal Cobalt Finish

The GUNNAR Riot Crystal Cobalt ($49.99) brings a translucent blue finish to the company’s rectangular Riot frame. The design uses a precision-engineered polymer construction with sturdy multi-barrel hinges, a fixed nose ridge, and a wider fit intended to work particularly well for broader face shapes. It is also compatible with low-bridge fits.
The Riot measures 147mm across the frame with 58mm lenses, 143mm temples, and a weight of 33 grams. More information on the Riot can be found on the official GUNNAR product page.
Berkeley Takes A Warmer Approach

The Berkeley Cranberry Crystal Fade heads in a different direction, pairing a deeper cranberry shade with a translucent fade across a softer, cat-eye-inspired frame.
GUNNAR positions the Berkeley ($64.99) as a lightweight option for extended wear, combining a precision-engineered polymer frame with wide-format lenses designed to provide a broader field of view. The lenses receive anti-reflective treatment on both the front and back and use the company’s proprietary lens material and tint.
At 28.47 grams, the Berkeley is slightly lighter than the Riot. Its measurements include a 140mm frame width, 54mm lenses, and 142mm temples. More details are available on the GUNNAR Berkeley product page.
A Seasonal Spin On Screen-Friendly Eyewear
These releases do not introduce a new type of lens or fundamentally change either frame. Instead, GUNNAR is using color to give two familiar designs a little more seasonal character without changing their core purpose.
For anyone who spends much of the workday bouncing among laptops, monitors, tablets, and phones, that means the same screen-focused eyewear in finishes that look a bit less office-issued. And since both colors are limited releases, Crystal Cobalt and Cranberry Crystal Fade will only stick around while supplies last.
