Google has announced its June Android feature drop, adding a collection of new personalization, safety, and sharing tools across Android devices. The update introduces everything from enhanced scam detection and fashion-focused search tools to new family safety features and expanded cross-platform file sharing.
The latest additions build on recent Android updates tied to Gemini-powered experiences and focus on making everyday tasks a little more convenient, whether that’s identifying a suspicious phone call, organizing a wardrobe, or sharing vacation photos with friends using different devices.
Phone by Google Gets Better at Spotting Impersonation Scams

One of the most practical additions arrives in Phone by Google. A new fake call detection feature can verify whether an incoming call claiming to be from one of your contacts is actually originating from that person’s device.
If a scammer attempts to spoof a trusted phone number, Android can warn users before they continue the conversation. The feature is available on Android 12 and newer devices that use Phone by Google.
With phone scams becoming increasingly sophisticated, having a digital bouncer at the front door of incoming calls feels like a timely upgrade.
Circle to Search Can Identify Entire Outfits
Google is expanding the capabilities of Circle to Search by allowing users to search an entire outfit at once.
Instead of identifying clothing items individually, users can now highlight a look and receive results covering everything from shirts and jackets to shoes and accessories. The feature works on Android 14 and newer devices that support Circle to Search.
For anyone who has ever paused a video and wondered where every piece of an outfit came from, this update removes a few extra detective steps.
Google Photos Is Getting a Digital Wardrobe

Google Photos will soon introduce a digital wardrobe feature that automatically catalogs clothing visible throughout a user’s photo library.
The system creates a browsable collection of apparel, allowing users to mix and match outfits, save favorite looks, and virtually try combinations. Google says the feature can help users organize personal style inspiration directly from photos they already have.
The rollout begins next week for eligible users in the United States, India, and Brazil running Android 10 or newer.
New Safety Features for Kids and Teens
Google is expanding the Personal Safety app with tools designed for younger users.
Children under 13 will be able to display medical information and emergency contacts on their lock screen and access car crash detection features. In the event of an accident, the system can contact emergency services and notify designated contacts.
Teen users will gain access to existing safety tools such as Safety Check and real-time location sharing with emergency contacts. The Personal Safety app is available globally.
Google Play Books Adds AI-Powered Reading Assistance
Google Play Books is receiving a new feature called Book Insights.
Readers can tap “Catch me up” to receive a recap of previously read sections or highlight passages to ask questions about characters, themes, and context without leaving the reading experience.
The feature begins rolling out today for select English-language titles, including thousands available at no cost.
Android and iPhone Sharing Gets Easier

Google is expanding Quick Share to work with AirDrop on more Android devices, making it easier to exchange files between compatible Android phones and iPhones.
Photos, videos, documents, and other files can be shared securely between platforms, even when an internet connection is unavailable. Cross-platform sharing has often felt like trying to pass a note through a maze of apps and cloud services. Google hopes this update makes the process considerably smoother.
Emoji Kitchen Adds More Creative Combinations
The June update rounds things out with new Emoji Kitchen mashups in Gboard.
Users can combine emojis into fresh sticker-style creations, offering more ways to express reactions, celebrations, and conversations beyond the standard emoji catalog.
Google says these features are rolling out now, with more Android updates planned as the company prepares for Android 17. More details are available through the Android feature drop announcement and on Android’s official feature drop website.
