From Workdays to Tomb Raiding, GUNNAR Has Your Eyes Covered

Spend enough time around phones, laptops, gaming gear, and home office setups and GUNNAR becomes a familiar name. We see the company’s glasses regularly, and there’s a good reason they keep finding their way into our coverage.

GUNNAR has built a surprisingly broad portfolio around a simple idea: people spend a lot of time looking at screens, so eyewear should account for that. Its lineup stretches from affordable everyday frames to prescription-ready options and licensed designs aimed squarely at gamers and collectors.

We’ve liked what we’ve seen from the brand over the years, particularly because there isn’t a single GUNNAR look. Some frames could pass for ordinary everyday glasses, others lean into gaming, and collaborations give fans something with considerably more personality. The Riot, Berkley, and Tomb Raider Croft Edition are three good examples of just how much ground the company covers.

Level Up is where we explore the gear that actually makes a difference, whether that’s in how you live, work, or unwind. Each edition brings together standout products, whether tied by brand or by theme, that turn the everyday into something a little more exceptional.

GUNNAR Riot: An Affordable Starting Point

Profile view of a woman wearing blue light blocking glasses with a sleek design, featuring a light color palette and long flowing hair.

At $49.99, the GUNNAR Riot is an easy entry into the company’s lineup. It uses a wide-fit rectangular frame designed for broader face shapes, with a durable nylon construction that keeps things lightweight enough for long workdays or gaming sessions.

GUNNAR offers the Riot with several lens tint choices, letting buyers pick the level of blue-light filtering that fits how and where they plan to wear them. The company’s Amber lenses block up to 65% of blue light, paired with its dual-sided anti-reflective G-Shield coating to reduce screen glare.

The Riot can be configured with prescription lenses from -5 to +6, making it useful for people who already wear corrective eyewear and don’t want another pair of glasses competing for nose space.

It’s the practical member of this trio: straightforward styling, a relatively low price, and the core lens technology that has become GUNNAR’s calling card.

GUNNAR Berkley: A More Traditional Everyday Look

A close-up portrait of a young woman with slicked-back hair, wearing stylish purple-tinted glasses. She has a soft expression and natural makeup, showcasing a modern and fashionable look.

The $64.99 GUNNAR Berkley takes the same screen-focused approach and packages it in a more conventional frame.

Its wide-format lenses provide plenty of viewing area for large monitors and multi-screen setups, and the lightweight nylon construction makes sense for people wearing glasses throughout an entire workday. The Amber lens option filters up to 65% of blue light, with anti-reflective treatment on the front and rear surfaces helping manage reflections from displays and room lighting.

Prescription options are available here, too.

Of the three, the Berkley may be the easiest to picture moving between environments. It doesn’t immediately announce itself as gaming eyewear, which works nicely for someone bouncing between an office, coffee shop, video calls, and a few hours of gaming after work.

Tomb Raider Croft Edition: GUNNAR Gets Playful

A collection of adventure-themed items including round sunglasses with yellow lenses, a black and brown carrying case, a dark cloth pouch featuring a silhouette design, a blue card with '30 Years' text, and a card labeled 'Dagger of Xian' on a textured surface surrounded by greenery.

Then there’s the GUNNAR Tomb Raider Croft Edition, which shows another side of the company.

Priced at $99, the Croft Edition celebrates 30 years of Tomb Raider with a stainless-steel frame finished in warm bronze tones. It still carries the functional pieces expected from GUNNAR, including its blue-light filtering lens technology and G-Shield anti-reflective and smudge-resistant coating.

Lens choice can push the filtering considerably further, with GUNNAR claiming up to 65% blue-light blocking with Amber lenses and up to 98% with Amber Max.

The presentation is part of the appeal here. GUNNAR includes a limited-edition Dagger of Xian pin, anniversary microfiber cloths, a collector’s pouch, and a protective case. For a Tomb Raider fan, the extras turn a functional accessory into something closer to memorabilia that happens to have a day job.

A GUNNAR for Different Kinds of Screen Time

These three frames capture what we’ve come to appreciate about GUNNAR. The company isn’t asking every customer to wear the same chunky pair of stereotypical “computer glasses.”

The Riot offers an affordable place to start, the Berkley favors an understated everyday aesthetic, and the Croft Edition gives gamers and Tomb Raider fans something far more distinctive. Across the broader catalog, GUNNAR plays with different shapes, materials, lens options, prescriptions, and licensed properties while keeping screen use at the center of the equation.

That range matters when glasses are something you may wear for hours at a time. Fit and lens characteristics count, but so does finding a pair you actually like putting on your face.

We see plenty of GUNNAR products come across our desks, and the portfolio continues to make a good case for the brand. It has options for workers, gamers, prescription wearers, collectors, and people who simply spend more hours staring at glowing rectangles than their eyes would probably prefer.
