Coway Introduces Airmega Halo for Affordable Whole-Room Air Purification

Coway has expanded its Airmega family with the launch of the Airmega Halo, a cylindrical air purifier designed to provide whole-room purification for medium to large spaces without the higher cost associated with larger-capacity models.

Introduced on August 27, 2026, the new purifier is positioned as a mid-size option within Coway’s lineup, sitting between the compact Airmega 50 and 100 models and the larger Airmega 350 and 450. The company has also designed the Halo with quiet operation and energy efficiency in mind, making it particularly suited to bedrooms and other spaces where low noise is important.

360-Degree Air Intake Covers the Room

The Airmega Halo uses a cylindrical design with a 360-degree air intake positioned around its base. This allows the purifier to pull in air from multiple directions rather than relying on a single intake point.

Coway says the system can capture 99.97 percent of particles as small as 0.3 microns, including allergens, bacteria, mold, and viruses.

The purifier is rated to clean spaces measuring up to 1,898 square feet in one hour, based on one air change per hour.

Designed for Quiet Nighttime Operation

One of the Airmega Halo’s main features is its focus on nighttime use. Its intelligent Night Sensor detects when a room becomes dark and automatically adjusts the purifier for sleep.

In Sleep Mode, the display can dim while the operating noise falls to as little as 17.8 dB(A). Users can choose whether to retain a soft night-light effect or turn the display completely dark.

The system is designed to maintain air purification without creating a noticeable disturbance while people sleep.

Smart Controls Help Reduce Energy Use

Coway has equipped the Halo with a Smart Mode that automatically adjusts performance according to indoor air conditions.

When the air is already clean, the purifier can switch to Eco Mode to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. If pollution levels rise, it can increase airflow to respond to the changing conditions.

Maximum power consumption is rated at 38 watts, and the Airmega Halo has received ENERGY STAR 3.0 certification, reflecting its focus on energy efficiency.

Three-Stage Filtration Targets Indoor Pollutants

The Halo uses a three-in-one filtration system combining a pre-filter, HEPA filter, and deodorization carbon filter.

The system is designed to address airborne particles and odors, while the pre-filter helps capture larger particles before air reaches the other filtration stages.

Coway says the filter is designed to last approximately one year, provided it receives regular cleaning, potentially helping reduce maintenance expenses.

Real-Time Particle Monitoring

A MegaScan Particle Sensor continuously monitors indoor air quality and detects pollutants including smoke, fine dust, and allergens down to PM2.5.

The purifier provides a four-color LED air-quality indicator so users can quickly see the current condition of the air. Its touchscreen also displays real-time air-quality information and provides access to the unit’s controls.

HyperVortex Technology Focuses on Airflow

Coway’s HyperVortex filtration system is another key component of the Airmega Halo. The system combines aerodynamic fan and duct designs intended to increase airflow and purification performance while maintaining quiet operation.

The company says elements of the design were inspired by the aerodynamic characteristics of eagle wings and the dimples found on golf balls.

A Minimalist Design for Home and Office

Beyond its purification capabilities, Coway has given the Halo a compact cylindrical appearance designed to blend into residential and office environments.

The white body is complemented by a silver rim, while a recessed blue ambient light creates a subtle halo effect around the top display. A pinhole-style intake at the bottom contributes to the product’s streamlined appearance.

An integrated handle also makes it easier to move the purifier between rooms.

Flexible Features for Everyday Use

The Airmega Halo includes several convenience features, including a timer with 1-, 4-, and 8-hour settings, a control-panel lock to prevent unwanted changes, and multiple airflow options.

Users can select Smart, Sleep, Eco, or Turbo modes depending on their needs. The night-light feature provides gentle illumination for bedrooms without requiring a bright display.

Price and Availability

The Coway Airmega Halo is available now in white for $229.99. Customers can purchase it through Coway’s website and Amazon.

With its combination of 360-degree airflow, HEPA-based filtration, quiet nighttime performance, and energy-conscious operation, the Airmega Halo gives Coway a new option for consumers looking for whole-room air purification without moving into the company’s largest and most expensive models.
